I think we’re genuinely interested - he fits the profile we usually like, undervalued due to a difficult first year in Bayern. Not sure they will let him go though despite all the problems - Bayern rarely sell young players.

Wonder if we have a decent relationship with them after the Mane deal and that might help get a deal done.

Didnt they say he was a long term signing and wouldnt give up on him after one year? I dont think they’ll sell.

There was talk we’d approached Bayern about loaning him in January.

I hope we’ve got plenty of these enquiries and possibly even deals on the go

We’ll be linked with every midfielder under The Lying Rag until the summer window opens….Gravenberch is just the first of many names, not sure there’s much to see here.

Added the detail Stevie missed
Can't speak for @moron, I know he was upset we didn't sign Nunes but has since gone cold on him. I've always been lukewarm on Bellers due to the price tag believing we could add greater value to the squad by having 2 players for the price of 1.
My ideal window would be 3 MF, 1RW, 1 RB and 1 CB. 6 new players players coming in, it isn't going to happen! Since FSG made the announcement that they will not sell, and it's unlikely we will make top 4, I really don't have huge expectations for the summer interms of budget or bodies coming in through the door.
If all we get is two new MFs who remain largely major injury free, I know we might not win the title, but top 4 is more achievable.
So come summer if we get one or more of the following, you will get no complaints from me
Kone
Maddison
Tielemans
Khéphren Thuram
Ryan Gravenberch
Nunes
Teun Koopmeiners
Declan Rice
Ruben Neves

Basically, i want to see tall (5'ft 10ish) guys in central MF who can hold the ball up, pass and tackle. What I don't want to see another clone of Naby, short, slow and injury prone. For example I would hate for us to get Kante.

We blew it with him.

Could easily have got him for 23m euros from Ajax.

The guy is a Liverpool fan.

Despite not playing, Bayern probably wouldn't sell him for anything less than 40m pounds now.

I agree we should have moved for him before now, and I do think he's an excellent prospect. I'm not sure he'd cost that much as he's not broken into the team and he cost them less than £20m. The real issue is Bayern are not a short term club, they don't really churn through players so I expect they will give him time unless there is a player they want from us that makes it more palatable for them.

I read somewhere last summer that Grevenberch was number two on our list after Tchouameni. We were confident of getting Tchouameni and Bayern moved in early.

So not surprised if we move for him again.

Fixed for accuracy

Indeed, but i think we have been proven correct and those of you who have assumed we would be ok and our hissy fits would come to nothing were wrong. But let me prepare you about my next hissy fit coz it aint gonna be about not signing a midfielder, as I know we will get a couple or even 3 this summer by default no my next hissy fit is gonna be if we dont buy a defender in the summer. I think we are covered for the rest of the team , Elliot will be good enough to play in Salahs current position next season.

I can hardly wait

I'm going to regret engaging, but couldn't resist

Please explain to me, in simple English, how your hissy fits came to something?

2 seasons moaning about getting a MF, and finally they're saying Klopp will get the money. In my view, they fix the MF, they'll fix the defence. The RB position imho needs an alternative to Trent.. someone like Frimpong but how much money will be left to get RB cover?

Watched a fair bit of Leverkusen this season, Frimpong's a good shout...been quite impressed by him. Reminds me a lot of Lamptey when he first broke on the scene at Brighton (no idea what's gone wrong with him since that injury) not as quick but very athletic....very good at bringing the ball forward and keeping it in tight areas (which Trent does struggle to do). Won't have the same quality with putting balls into the box or pinging it 50 yards for Nunez/Salah etc to latch onto but defensively far more stable.

Maybe it's a case of completely changing that right side with a more balanced look.....we all know Salah doesn't really want to help out defensively and lingers up top waiting for us to regain possession.

We buy one midfielder every five years. Put your dicks back in your pockets

Jose Enrique speaking on his YouTube channel, a conversation detailed by The Boot Room, the Spaniard named Bayern’s Ryan Gravenberch as the player that will ply his trade at Anfield next season.

“This player is ours amigo, Gravenberch,” he said.

“[…] Amigo, it’s the same agent as me! Team Raiola, amigo we had a meeting not long ago in London, this is our player.”

Isn't Raiola dead?
