Rafa had a meeting with his agent after the season. He wanted a clarification on Ryans role at the club and a promise about more playing time. Rafa couldn't guarantee that, and Babel can now talk to other clubs in this transfer window.

They reckon our asking price is 8 mill. Ajax are very interested, Spanish and Italian clubs and a few Premiership teams.

Looks as though he's finished, and sadly it will always be the what could have been. I really wanted him to succeed. Both him and Rafa have to take the blame for this one, hopefully he won't go to a Premiership team.

Yes, he's horribly frustrating to watch. Always look like his thoughts are everywhere else but on the game itself.

On a side note, Rafa wants to keep Leto. Although if he can't get a work permit, he'll be off aswell. The story is from Liverpool.no

I still think he can make it at another club, he needs an arm around him though and to not be played at LW :🙂 I will be happy if we can make £8M back on him.
 
He is a good player and when he gets a new start in team and gets to play a few games he'll prove it. Rafa has at least some responsibility here in fucking up this lads time with us. Or perhaps it was parry that bought him too?

hold on a second!! fair enough the guy hasnt exactly blown the palce on fire but he has had some shocking treatment from Raf.

First season was never going to be easy but he did fairly well considering how many starts he got. Second season we go and buy Riera in the postion that Ryan would play, what the hell is the guy supposed to do he? He has hardly had enough starts to warrant that sort of comment. numpty

anyway if it happens it happens I braced myself for the sale of babel a long time ago. onwards and upwards. I personally think we should stop buying attacking players between the age of 20-23 unless we are prepared to give them time on the pitch to develope. obviously this doesn't count for a young player who is already well established in their team in a strong league (england/spain) buy youngsters to play in the reserves or buy experienced players that can slot straight into the first team.

Well, he didn't turn up at Liverpool that way.. so yes.. he is.

To be honest, I can't be bothered to argue a case for Ryan.. he had potential and for whatever reason, it hasn't been realised here. What i'm most concerned is Rafa's apparent inability to get the best out of some of our young players. When they were bought, I said it.. Babel and Lucas will be his test at developing young talent.. both came with glowing reports and big reputations (of great potential). Neither seemed to have developed much, if at all.
 
I'm sick of believing in Babel, he never lives up to it. But I'm still torn, there's a part of me that;s so frustrated with him I just want us to cash in on him and be done with it. But the other part of me just *knows* as soon as we sell him on he'll become the player so many of us have been waiting for him to become.
