He wasn't in the World Cup squad, largely, I presume, because he hadn't played much. And maybe a little bit because he's mental.

I don't know if there's any truth in this at all but I think this is the kind of risk we need to be taking on such a limited transfer budget. If he gets his head right he's an absolute beast. Can run like the wind, too.

I do like him as a player actually, mental or not. Perhaps him and Babel might translate their musical connection into a fearsome left-sided combo, that will torture defenses across the land.

I'm hoping that Roy can work his magic on the under performing stars like Babel, Drenthe and breathe new life into the injury prone Torres and spur on a rejuvenated Joe Cole.

I like his all action style. High tempo football will maybe bring the best out of him? He can cover a few positions so not a bad pick up if true.
