Giuseppe Rossi is being chased by a host of clubs in Italy and England according to his agent.

The Villarreal striker, who is in Marcello Lippi's provisional squad of 30 to go to this summer's World Cup, may leave the club in the summer and could move back to his homeland or to England, where he was a part of Manchester United's youth team before moving to Spain.

Rossi has impressed during his time at the Yellow Submarine, scoring 33 goals in 91 games for the club, earning him international recognition and a place in Lippi's Confederations Cup squad for Italy in 2009.

"I feel that the player can leave Villarreal because this is a period of downsizing for the club," Rossi's agent Andrea Pastorello told calciomercato.it

"Several teams like Giuseppe in Italy.

"Juventus and Roma are important clubs, also Napoli and Fiorentina, but there are no real negotiations yet.

"I'm not sure whether Rossi will certainly come back to Italy, in recent weeks he was also viewed by several English clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City."

Desire
Pastorello spoke of the 23-year-old's desire to make the final squad to go to the World Cup, as the Italians look to defend the title they won in 2006 under Lippi.

He also stated that although it will be a perfect opportunity for Rossi to showcase his ability, he did not feel it would be a major influence on the clubs already watching him.

"We hope he's within the 23 for the World Cup," he added.

"For Rossi it is an honour to be called by Lippi.

"The World Cup may lead to something more, but I don't think it will influence the market of interest too much."

Good striker, but not suited to the EPL.

Next move will surely be to Inter, AC, or Juve.

He should leave Villareal, a player of his ability should be at a Champions League level club.

agreed.. i rate him but as you said.. not suited to the EPL.

id be very pissed off if we signed him. so much money!

Quality player. I'm surprised he never gets mentioned by the usual culprits who spunk all over La Liga clubs/players.

Because he doesn't score enough Whitey. 1 in 3 games for a striker?? You'd be looking for more 1 in 2.

In total its 45 goals in 122 games for Villareal which isn't bad in a team that is weaker than in previous years.

I see him as a 2nd striker and a creator aswell as a big goal threat. Hes 23 now, got a bit of spark about his play and should be a good investment for someone.

I quite rate him, but I hope he isn't a replacement for Masher because it will mean Lucas will be our only defensive midfielder, ideally he will replace Aqua man and (optimistically) we will make a profit on the deal.

Nope your not being whooshed, he also plays as an attacking midfielder and Rafa may be trying (unsuccessfully) to play a more attacking game (hence the signing of Aquaman). I was thinking that if Masher went then there is a possible midfield trio of Rossi, Gerrard and Lucas.

Can't wait to see Lucas at left back this year.

Amazingly enough I think he would be an improvement.

Pacheco will come good. All he needs is more game time which will give him greater confidence and experience.

I was being facetious but now that you mention it...
