Rooney's new contract

It's definitely gone insane, there's been nothing to merit it whatsoever. UTD have been bent over by Shrek and his agent.

Sturridge and Suarez: 250k a week

Rooney: 300k a week

Great piece of business by Utd.....

This is hilarious, it seems like he has more say in the goings on at Man Yoo than Moyes nowadays and this just further reinforces that.

300k a week. Lordy that's a lot of cabbage. To think that most people get a fraction of that in a year.

It's a disgrace and one of the singlemost reasons why the game of the people is no longer the game of the people. Fans pay his wages and he's not even that good.

They better get used to it - they'll need to overpay players to convince them to come to a club playing shite football everywhere.... Except in Europe... where they won't be playing at all.

The big problem is not Rooney on 300 K, it is the standard set and expectation for new signings to move up there with him. Disastrous piece of business if true.

I hope they do give him 300k and a 4-5yrs contract, it will be all part of their demise. On his form of the last couple of years, he's barely worth 100k a week. 12 league goals last season, 9 this season. And on this new contract he'll still be picking up 300k a week when he's 32-33.
Then all the other players, and players better than him (e.g rvp) will all want 300k+ a week.

Yeah, its fucking stupid. I think its proof that Gin-soak is keeping well out of things. He knew when to get rid.

Why is it a disgrace at 300k and not at 200k? It's been absurd for a while. The only truly absurd thing here is the value of the player in question, which must be a quarter or less of what it was at his peak, which he'll never reach again. He's not a star, he's a red giant, and they'll never offload him if those figures are remotely true.

In other words, go right ahead, I look forward to the victorious press releases.

It was a disgrace then and his and his agents antics are scandalously greedy.

Good news for us as this takes up a massive chunk of their FFP fee base and will also make it even harder to sell him when he gets bored of Europa League.

Obviously he is greedy asking for that much, but at the end of the day - there is an organisation willing to pay that so can't blame him for asking.

Apparently he still hasn't signed this contract. Hopefully you jinxy bastards haven't jinxed it.

His agent is having problems coaching him on how to do the signature. He gave up saying 'it's just a cross' because poor Wayne kept getting up and running into the centre of the room. Now it's 'forward slash, backward slash,' but at the moment Wayne is merely peeing in different directions.

He signed it.

[article]Wayne Rooney: Man Utd striker agrees new £300k per week deal

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has agreed a new five-and-a-half year contract worth up to £300,000 a week.
The 28-year-old England international will extend his current contract by four years, tying him to the club until June 2019.
His old deal, which would have expired next year, paid up to £250,000 a week.
It is thought the pay rise will help him in his hobby of shagging grandmothers.[/article]

They're a big club, they have to keep their best players.

*insert other bollocks football cliches here*

This is brilliant news. All part of their downfall. He'll be 33-34 and on 300k a week there. Excellent.
