They always say deliberately stupid things to get people to phone them.
It isn't a debate as far as I'm concerned. Rooney is a top player, but Torres is out of this world. What's their goal to game ratio for Utd and Liverpool?

I think a better question is who is better rooney or gerrard because they essentially play in the same position, aren't out and out strikers and are the talisman of their team (well rooney is now ronaldo has gone). torres is an out and out striker and rooney is a creative forward.

no it's not. even out and out scorers have to give something to the team other than goals, be it work rate, the ability to hold up the ball, the ability to chase down lost causes, the ability to play with your back to goal the the ability to create chances. someone who waits for chances, finishes them clinically but offers fuck all else is a waste of space. read; inzaghi
