I think a better question is who is better rooney or gerrard because they essentially play in the same position, aren't out and out strikers and are the talisman of their team (well rooney is now ronaldo has gone). torres is an out and out striker and rooney is a creative forward.
the talksport host is a little annoying with his claim torres offers nothing but goals, which is bollox, you could level that at RVN, owen but not torres who actually plays as the second striker for spain and was the second striker at AM.

That's fine.

no it's not. even out and out scorers have to give something to the team other than goals, be it work rate, the ability to hold up the ball, the ability to chase down lost causes, the ability to play with your back to goal the the ability to create chances. someone who waits for chances, finishes them clinically but offers fuck all else is a waste of space. read; inzaghi
