I can watch the CL 2005 final anytime.

What's wrong with watching the replay of that game many times? That game had everything.....

Hey @manwithnoname ... I hope and pray that you shudder as much if we have another Spanish fullback wearing the Spanish flag, celebrating in two weeks time like your idol:

“And so, it is a repeat of the 1981 European Cup final between Liverpool and Real Madrid, only there is virtually no way this will be a repeat of that. Watch it back and it is awful: a dirty, disjointed game of barely any passes, even fewer chances and pretty much no football, played on a pitch that was embarrassingly bad. It finished 1-0 when the Liverpool left-back Alan Kennedy scored the only goal. It is hard to imagine that being repeated this time round: these two teams survived semi-finals that finished 7-6”

Fuck.... I’m starting to run out of European Cup wins to be proud of.

Hard to know which was the dullest of of our 5 CL wins, it has to be either the Madrid game in '81 or the Bruges game in '78.

The '77 game was great and '84 was ok. The dullest of all time IMO is between AC Milan v Juventus in 2003, Steaua Bucharest v Barca in '86 or Red Star Belgrade v Marseille.........all turgid affairs.

I wonder if there's any trophies we didn't win that we should have, and can therefore replace the ones we are embarrassed to have won?

I enjoyed the Milan vs Juve one because it involved some legendary players on both sides: Maldini, Pirlo, Nesta, Nedved, Del Piero and also because Shevchenko scored the winning penalty and won Ballon d'Or soon thereafter. It was full of tension and tactics on both sides, definitely not a dull 0:0. I think Rivaldo was an unused sub for Milan in that game; that tells you something about the quality involved.

Oh, and I just remembered how a young Brazilian defender Roque Junior played part of the overtime basically standing on one leg, because Milan was out of subs. They put him where he could do the least damage and somehow at times he still managed to intercept the ball. It was hilarious and dramatic at the same time.

I hope the Milan fans have able to exorcise that particular Champions League win from their history.

Imagine the shame of having to live with it.

My experience of traveling to Instanbul to watch those bunch of fools win the European Cup is something I’d not swap for anything.
Greatest day of my life. That journey was pure epic and I will be sure to tell my daughter once she's older and as to understand the significance

I quite understand Whaddapie. I was watching a film just now and a huge smile crept across my face when the thought of the final just popped into my mind again. I'm sure it's going to happen many more times before the match.

No, we're 1 point away if we secure it against Chelsea. Otherwise we need 3 points.

Some of our players were looking so leggy in Rome that I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp played a weakened side at Stamford Bridge and gambled on a home win against Brighton.
