Was linked a few days ago in the Mirror. Might be something in it? I think we need some kind of third striker this summer.

Benfica boss Jorge Jesus has admitted Liverpool's interest in £25million-rated striker Rodrigo Moreno.
Scouts from Manchester United, Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion were among the Premier League representatives at Tottenham's 2-2 draw at the Estadio da Luz on Thursday night, but Rodrigo, 23, was only on the bench.

Asked specifically about Liverpool's interest in the striker, who has scored 10 goals in his last 16 appearances for Benfica, Jesus said: 'It's normal. Every Benfica player is in a big window.
'The league is full of high quality players so it's normal for other clubs to be interested.
'Rodrigo is going through a good moment.'
Rodrigo had an uneventful loan spell in England as a 17-year-old at Bolton, scoring just once in 17 appearances, but that has not put off the Premier League clubs.

And their interest has forced Rodrigo into talks with his club at the end of the season, his father and agent has revealed, although the youngster is solely concentrating on league and European glory with Benfica at present.
'I expect to meet the club at the end of the season,' Adalberto Machado told TMW.
'We want the best for the player and for the club, but at the moment Rodrigo is only concentrating on Benfica and winning titles at the end of the season.'

Tim Sherwood's side fought back from a goal down to lead 2-1 and had chances to force extra time before Lima's stoppage-time spot-kick secured a 2-2 draw and a 5-3 aggregate victory.
'We knew Tottenham could do what we did in London,' manager Jesus said.
'We had five players not used to playing 90 minutes, but it was a risk we took because our objective is to win the championship.
'But we want to go as far as we can in this competition.'

Yeah, price does seem pretty steep. Having said that, I do think we should be looking to pay £20m or so for whichever striker we go for (if we do). He needs to be a quality player, capable of challenging for a first team place.

So I suppose he's almost in that price range... I'm just not sure if he's value for that.

Hmmmm...
On 31 January 2014, Benfica sold 100% of Rodrigo's economic rights to a private company, Meriton Capital Limited, for €30 million, plus another potential €10 million on performance-related bonuses. He remained with the club until the end of the season.

Looked a good player vs Spurs. Steep price though

Yeah, scored a lovely goal against them. I was impressed by what I saw in the 20mins or so that I watched - which means nothing.

I'd steer clear if they're wanting mad money for the guy though.

Auction, ahoy, seems to me.

Seriously, though, would he be value for money at £25 million? I have my doubts.

I'm not really sure anymore. I haven't really got a clue what you'd expect to pay for a good young striker now. Is it just me or there doesn't seem to be that many around?
