I think we should create a new UK-based fans consortium & approach Labour.

We could guarantee them the vote of each fan in the consortium under the proviso they give us the club on a shared ownership basis when they get re-elected.

It's certainly less far-fetched than the combined efforts of SoS & ShareLiverpool.
I'm not sure we'd need to. It's in their manifesto, isn't it? If they did that for us and United, they'd have the goodwill of millions of people straight away.
i don't think it's in their manifesto to just GIVE a public asset to a small group of unrepresentative individuals!

What actually happened at Corinthians Avvy ?
From wiki :

In 1999, Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst bought Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, a successful Brazilian club team. The club initially succeeded under the new ownership group by winning the FIFA Club World Cup. Before the purchase of the club, the ownership group assured the fans that a new stadium was in development. This never materialized and after legal/financial troubles and partner infighting, Hicks retired from the company and the ownership group eventually sold Corinthians. The ownership group drew the fury of Corinthian's fans due to financial decisions, the introduction of corporate sponsors on the players' uniforms and the changing of the club's colors. The club was eventually sold and left in a worse position after they were relegated to a lower level league. Comparisons have been made between Hicks's Brazilian failure and his current troubles at Liverpool Football Club.

I take your point tho; we could see the exact same result as well 🙁

Maybe they just googled sixcrazyminutes and found out how much people wanted them out oand far away from this club, so they sold to the first and best offer?

I think moores fully intended to sell to the DIC, he leaked information of the dic's bid to the yanks knowing they would match the bid, he expects DIC to better the bid making him more money but DIC pull the plug, moores is left with only one option on the table. he knows he doesn't have the means to start the stadium, holding onto the club is not an option so he sells to the yanks even though he is fully aware of what they have done in the past.

to be fair to moores I really don't think he would have sold to the yanks if he knew how the next 3 years would pan out

I think it was as it was reported.
DIC dicked around too much with the due diligence, they never sent a big-boy to the table, Moores lost his patience and was impressed with how quickly the yanks completed due diligence, and put an offer on the table, oh he also like the noises they made (as did the rest of us).

As someone touched on earlier, given the mess Dubai are in now, was it a lucky escape? Who knows.

There is someone lurking in the background here , that's for sure.

Sorry V, no, it's just a feeling.

Why would Purslow and co go all coy and cold on the Rhone thing? He was tasked by RBS with finding £100m of new money and did , so it makes me think there is someone else with a better offer sniffing.

The best part is that we can post things like, "Open your checkbook Sunny!" or "Sack the manager!" or "The owners are cunts!" and we CAN BE SURE THAT THE OWNERS KNOW EXACTLY HOW WE FEEL.

SCM will be the most popular Liverpool website around!Sunny when they said you were the man with the plan I certainly didn't expect this!

Depending on the pressure Purslow's under from RBS, we can reasonably hope such interested parties are beyond the sniffing stage, as I doubt he'd want (well, I certainly hope he wouldn't want) to lose a firm offer merely on the off chance of better. Fingers crossed.

to be honest I think what has more likely happened is hicks has pulled out of the deal because it wont make him money and in the process give him less say.

I wonder if Hicks has that much freedom of action now. That too depends on how much pressure RBS are putting on.

I read somewhere that RBS have been on us like spandex on a fat lady over the last few months. Cheeking our books on a daily basis and having a certain control over our spending. I doubt Hicks is in a position to act like he wants to.
