Cash/wonga/spondulicks, or more precisely the lack of it, would be my guess.
According to the Mail, Salcido is costing Fulham £2.5M. I thought Konchesky was costing £3M

Yes and errr no. I think had he left on good terms which he seemed to at the time, and he had a gentlemens agreement he should stick to it.
However given the fact that jumped up illegal immigrant Al Fayhed starts slagging him off the day he signs Hughes and having a pop he should make it his duty to try and shaft them whenever and however he can.

I'm with mersey86 on this, partly from general principle and partly because of Roy himself. If Roy were to do the dirty on Fulham, he'd be shafting people he knows and respects as well as that old chancer Oil Fired. I don't think that would sit well with him, and it might put him off his stride at a time when he needs all his concentration for the job ahead.

Well, Mark Hughes has said different today, but if we do end up buying Konchesky I'd be willing to bet we'd sounded Fulham out first, though whether Hughes himself was consulted about it by the Fulham bigwigs is another question.
