2 points off the top and in the Top 4, after on paper the toughest possible start to a campaign..

No more big guys to face till Christmas, look at our run of games, quite favorable..

If we are in the Top 4 by Christmas, a few points off the top, we will be in with a real chance.

Time to make a statement, a statement of intent.. Tonight was never about that, from now to Christmas we can certainly do that... Its in our hands..

It's going to be a real test of our improvement. If we are getting more competitive then we should take the majority of points in those pre-Christmas games. I do think we are getting tougher mentally, especially with Klopp driving us on and I have yet to see a better side than us. Top 4 at Christmas would be a real lift.

If someone had said to me at the start of the season that we would have 8 points from Arse away, Spurs away, Chelsea away and United at home, I would have bitten their hand off. I'm okay with the point last night. Mourinho can say we didn't get further away from them, but they got no nearer to us.

I think to be 2 points off the top after 8 games (only 3 at home) and in those
Spurs A
Arsenal A
Chelsea A
United
And
Leicester
Is fucking remarkable.
This, this and this, I'm usually Chief Pessimist, but we are in a very good position and outside of Burney have got very good results. Hopefully the draw last night will hurt the team badly and they'll be chomping at the bit to set it right against West Brom, because with a bit of luck we could start ourselves on a good run.

Those home and away tables are an interesting read. How the fuck did Newcastle get themselves relegated with a home record like that? Similarly, fair play to Bournemouth for staying up despite such a lousy home record.

Call me stupid as stupid does.. But aren't they the wrong way round?
Home and Away table indicates how the teams fare respectively. Thus I compared our home matches against the Away table and vice-versa, just out of curiousity (last season's best away side is now this season's worst though).

Not unhappy at all about last night. Ok, we werent in top gear, but that was probably gonna be the case after 2 weeks off and then 2 changes.

The fact Utd were scared to even go toe to toe with us shows how far we have come already.

If we can get back to where we were a few weeks ago I reckon we can go top by Xmas.

Not as long as Halmeister's around, you ain't. 😉

It's the next 8 fixtures that are the big test.

We all know we can turn up for the big games, its the Swansea's of this world that have given us problems.

Hopefully we can go on a run now of 5/6 wins on the bounce to go top.

None of these games are walkovers, other than maybe Sunderland at home. West Brom has a mean defense, in-form GK and a formidable threat on set-pieces. Then we face Benteke at Palace in that claustrophobic stadium – never an easy place to play. We have struggled against Watford in the past, but this time at home I think we can beat them – that's probably one of the easier games, although still somewhat tricky. Saints away is the fixture we lost last season, but now Mane is on our side... Et cetera, et cetera. If we don't play our best, don't improve on set plays and fail to convert chances, we can easily lose 2 or all 3 points in any of those games.

It's the PL ... every team is capable of springing a surprise. however I know who'd I'd rather be playing if we desperately needed 3 points, and those teams (bar Southampton away) would be top of the list (or close to it).

Pretty much Hanserns stock answer for any player, signed by any manager, at any any time.

Surely even you can see there is concern.

That goal kick in injury time, that went out for a throwing was shocking

That auto correct of 'throw in' was shocking. Unless it wasn't an auto correct, which would be shockingly shocking

Its not, obviously. Its not a concern either after 3 league games. Giving a new young player time when its quite obvious he might struggle a bit in the beginning is just normal and the sane thing to do.

Labelling him shite, worse than Ming etc after 3 games is just mental.
There is a reason why Klopp bought him and there is a reason why he has taken over from Ming. Just give him a bit of time.
We even kept a clean sheet ffs.

Klopp lost it big time in regards to that goal kick. Doubt he'll do that again.

Of course it's a fucking concern.
So far his distribution has been hideous and he's massively suspect under the cross.
Anyone not concerned has their heads in the clouds.
