It's almost impossible to spell how it's pronounced in English but there definitelly needs to be H in front.
 
It drives me mad when people criticise the wrongful pronunciation of foreign names....it happens. Im Irish, My name is pronounced in english but yet half you lot havent been able to say it when i visit! Therefore I reckon everyones deserved a bit of slack. It just so happens that most of these pronunciations have caught on. Im sure dirk isnt too pissed about it...nor are the spanish, cause that lot couldnt give a fiddlers about anything. Pfft

i agree, generally. but 'berna-bau' is just a pet hate of mine. i'd never correct someone in real life - as much as i find the error annoying, i'd find people saying it correctly because they'd done as i told them much, much worse.

Agree somewhat, but with two reservations. One: getting people's names right shows a bit of respect. Two: it does get on my tit a bit to hear broadcasters (who DO have more of an obligation to try than the rest of us IMO, and who have resources available to them to help get it right) not bothering - or, even worse, thinking they have got it right when they obviously haven't done any research.
 
Where's a mic when you need to ask Mr Madrid's "shit on a stick" Valdano what he makes of Madrid's style of play today..
