Reina.... 4 Totally at fault for the 2nd Goal has to have a serious look in the mirror

Gerrard 6 - Deserves better
Jovanovic 5 - A trier
Kuyt 4 - Another who went missing

N'Gog 4 - The bubble has burst
Torres 5 - Coming back from injury but still bad.

How does Skrtel get 2?

The only players who looked like they gave a fuck were Skrtel, Carra, Gerrard and Kuyt. The rest can fuck off.

Can't believe you gave Jovanovic 5 either above everyone else bar Gerrard and Torres, he was fucking awful.

Ngog - 4

Hodgson - 2 (poor starting team and failed to get subs on even when 3-0 down).

Hodgson 0

The blame falls squarely on him for choosing such an atrocious line-up. N'gog is a woeful footballer and putting him alongside Torres was an awful decision as was playing Kuyt and Jovanovic on the wings and Lucas instead of Poulsen. Had we played Poulsen in place of Lucas and Maxi in place of N'gog, this game would have been much much better. And there were plenty of people who said this way before the game began.

The biggest problem was his complete failure to address any of our problems by making a fucking substitution. Anyone and everyone could see that deadly and Jova are complete shit as wingers, and I'm not getting into the problems with Lucas.

Roy - 2

Im giving Lucas & Kuyt one point each for managing to have their boots on the correct feet.

Hodgson wasn't to blame. Ludicrous comment.

When we've got a plethora of useless shitbags as starters, dead potatoes on the bench - we won't compete with anyone.

Yes he was. Team selection was pathetic and there were no substitutions to speak of.

What exactly could he have done bar Poulsen for Lucas ?

Not played N'gog. Played Maxi instead of him. Put Kuyt alongside Torres and Maxi on the right. Would have been a far more balanced midfield with more guile and creativity.

Playing with Lucas and N'gog is like playing with 9 men.

We have a perfectly good winger in Maxi, and instead we played two converted strikers who both looked like they were wearing concrete boots.

The Torres/N'gog partnership was a non-starter. There were plenty of more sensible suggestions given in the build-up thread if you're short of ideas.

My God Niall. Did you watch the game? Was it 78mins when we made a substitution? Apart altogether from the starting eleven.

I seem to remember N'Gog scoring a couple of goals lately.

We are hardly blessed with players that score on a regular basis

You are in denial, Roy should have at least tried to do something instead of doing nothing whatsoever. Babel. Maxi, and maybe even Poulson were all viable options yet Roy decided to sit on his hands.

Putting two out-and-out strikers on doesn't guarantee goals. Particularly if there's no supply. We were away from home against a strong side. It was not a good decision, as evidenced by the fact that we were outplayed from start to finish.

You're right about that, I admit.

Should have tried something at least.
[/quote]

Rafa seriously drove me insane with inane substitution policy, I don't think I'll be able to cope if Roy turns out to be worse.

I can't be bothered with ratings but I can't believe how flat we were. You have to wonder how much what goes on off the field affects the players, last week we were a club on the brink of a multi million pound investment, everyone was lifted by that thougt, this week, according to the likes of Tony Evans, we're on the brink of bankrupcy. We'd be mad to think the players aren't thinking about the investment, or lack of it.

Of course it doesn't.

Hodgson tried something different tonight unfortunately it didn't work out.

The fact remains we just don't have enough good players at the minute

Reina - 5 - He should be disappointed with the 2nd goal, which effectively ended the game.

Johnson - 4 -Was caught out of position too often, crossed poorly.

Skrtel - 4 - Gave away a silly penalty lunging in. Skrtel of last season.

Carragher - 5 - Didn't organise the defence in his usual manner. Possibly still getting to grips with the change from zonal to man to man marking.

Agger - 2 - Makeshift left-back against a proper winger- result, raped all night. Being outjumped for the 2nd goal capped a dismal perfromance by the Dane.

Lucas - 3 - Once again showed he does not have the ability, mentality or whatever to raise his game when needed. He operates at 2 levels, mediocre and shit.

Gerrard - 6 - Only player who looked like creating anything.

Jovanovic - 3 - In Richards pocket all game. No end product.

Kuyt - 3 - I'm done with him at right midfield. 1st touch awful, he annot move WITH the ball and hit the fist City defender with virtually every cross. If you can't run with the ball and beat a player and can't cross, what is he there for?

Ngog - 3 - Invisible.

Torres - 4 - Looked rusty and does not look good alongside another striker. I do not want to see Torres 10yds behind Ngog attempting to play through balls for him.

Pretty much agree with these. I would say though that Kuyt has always been horrific as a right midfielder in a 4-4-2. If he's going to play on the right-hand side, it should be in a 4-2-3-1, where he does have something to offer.

He should have been partnering Torres tonight up front though.
