Coutinho 6 flashes of his best but not good enough
Firmino 6 didn't create enough and wasted some good chances to pick the right pass
Salah 7 was busy and threatening but ultimately zero end product.

Gomez and Coutinho for me, he might not have had a direct impact, but he was involved in everything we did that was positive. His skill and ability to ghost past United players, was sublime to watch.

He made a couple of sloppy passes but in general I agree with you. I thought he made some good chances

Bit of both, he wasn't smart, he set up the way everyone knew he would. Be compact, keep the game tight, let us have the majority of the ball and hope for either a lucky break or at worst, bank on getting a draw. It's what he's always done away to the big guns and it works, he'll get the majority of the points at home against most teams, so he can afford to take take draws away to the top six.

We weren't naive, I thought we were aggressive, we hit them in numbers defensively and offensively, but as always if our brittle defense isn't getting us down, our unpredictable forward line is.

Alot of us said last season we need a clinical player and we were laughed at, which is fucking stupid. Just because we can't defend and that's the priority, it doesn't mean that we should automatically ignore other problems. Salah is a start and Solanke is maybe the future, but we need a player who scores goals for fun.

Firmino isn't as good wide, but he's just as good if not better deeper – in the #10 role. That has been his main position for most of his career; Klopp was the one who moved him to #9 for the first time.

Whilst true, it's not exactly. Like he's playing as a true 9 now, and the best of his performances as a 10 were for hoffenheim with a different setup

I don't think we have the players to utilise him best as a 10,and we have better players who should play as a 10

Henderson had one of his better defensive displays, but ultimately united didn't try and create through the middle, everything was down the flanks

So he wasn't really tested

His passing was meh.

Matip 7 - Kept his concentration today
Gomez 9 - Superb at both ends of the field. Won the 1v1 battle with Martial and then Rashford. Put in 2 great passes; one Can should scored from.
Can 6 - industrious, but lacked quality.
Wijnaldum 7 - kept the ball ticking over but didn't make the most of the amount of possession he had in the final 3rd.
Henderson 7.5 - excellent defensively, but his passing from deep was off today.
Coutinho 6 - quiet.
Firmino 6 - intelligent pressing but never looked like scoring. Should have got an assist though with the Matip chance
Salah 7 - a real live wire today, but as ever, his feet seem to move quicker than his brain can process and missed our best chance in the first half. A little bit more composure and he scores.

Klopp 7 - Won the tactical battle in that we dominated the game and created 2 clear chances to win (that's as many as you can hope for against the Jose bus). But his substitutions were ineffective (Studge and Firmino out wide don't mix) and I'd have liked to have seen AOC introduced a little earlier.

He pressed and harried like a duracell bunny but just doesnt offer enough, today his passing was pretty sloppy when we most needed it.

Between the three of them , they're just collectively not good enough
