erm, what match were you watching?

Babel wasn't 'that' good, fucking hell.

He looked better on the right in the first half but MOTM??

I thought the Greek lad did well, Degen had a great game and another good goal from N'Gog.

Agree with most of that, maybe Spearing was a little better than a 6.

I'm currently watching a few replays and I can now confirm that Dossena was in fact playing.

Well, quite a few people who watched the match disagree with you ... Surely you can give him credit where it's due?

How does Cavalieri get an 8?

Leeds had two chances (one of which should've been a goal) and he really did not inspire confidence.

Just felt that Babel, especially during the first half, was our most dangerous player. Second half Benitez decided to start experimenting so he didn't do as good. But still, I think he was our best player today.

Kept a clean sheet. Got two bonus points for that.

He did well this evening. A Babel who is on top top form, beating players and scoring goals is STILL going to give the ball away on occasion but that's a small price to play for what he brings going forward.

He was'nt brilliant this eve but he was good, especially in the first half and was MOTM or close to it. That might have a little to do with the fact it wasnt a great performance by us but he did play well this eve and in parts looked very good playing AM on the right.

Lawrenson's just been on the radio choosing this moment to write off Babel's LFC career.

Good job his timing as a player was better than that.

He spends so much time slagging liverpool off and writing liverpool off I surprised he even cares.
why DOES he care what a bench player does or doesn't do. I fucking hate that wanker

Wiz, I posted in the thread that I thought he was playing well, he had a good first half but was still not without his deficiencies at times. Why did the commentator feel the need to pick up on it when he went off, if his performance was deserving of a MOTM award? I'm not saying a commentator's word is the be all and end all, but if it was that obvious there wouldn't have been a need to make the comment regards his display.

It was still Leeds United, a league 1 side. You're looking at Babel to make a mark in the game by scoring or having a direct influence on a goal, or at least creating a few chances. A chance to show his class against a lesser side.

I've given him credit of late and backed him against that useless cunt of a poster 'Dossena' after good displays in recent games, this was the chance for him to start a match against a lesser side and show his worth, apologies if I feel mildly underwhelmed once again. He did well, I hoped to come away having seen him make a significant impact.

Nice touch and composure by N'Gog for the goal anyway.

I dont do ratings but I want pick up on Aurelio's performance.

I was very impressed. There was nothing 'spectacular' but he never took more than 3 to 5 secs on the ball. He knew his pass before he received it and invariably he looked forward. No, there was not many 30 yard cutting balls, but they were passed into space for the full backs and wide players or knocked nicely into feet for Ngog.

He tried to dictate a good tempo. We all say he is a 'footballer' and that showed tonight, quick turnover of the ball to our team mates and usually good passes as well.

Also, liked his 'leadership' at times, I saw him on a couple of occassions dictating to players on the ball where to play it.

Would like to see him back in that role at Anfield against a lesser opposition. Thats 2 games away from home. Lets see if he can really be a viable option in that position.

You're quite right. He's a classy player who seems to have become a 'senior' member of the team. Some of his passing was a joy to see.

is that insult really necessary? I've been called a cunt, for arguing that Babel is a useless footballer?

I mean, fucking hell!!!

100% correct

Carragher was poor again. He can't do against pace or height right now. A Skrtel/Sotiris partnership might be necessary. I want the Greek in though he is just so good in the air and thats our biggest weakness.

A decent performance and certainly better than I was expecting ,and good turns from some of the players I don't particularly rate. I think N'gogs performance stands out for me. I also think Spearing deserves a little more credit, some of those balls he was threading through were fantastic, and some that he attempted he was really unlucky on.
However tempering things a touch, Leeds were a decent team, but are still a division three side (I know it's league two), and who were ,to be frank, very unlucky to have a goal disallowed and a free header spurned and to finish still playing 11 men.

And he's much pacier on the ball than e.g. Lucas.

I'm not bashing Lucas I'm merely stating a fact. I wouldn't be to surprised to see him start at home against Hull alongside either Lucas or Masher really, as he'd certainly speed up our game a notch.

He did very well last night.
