Gerrard
Aquilani
Meireles
Lucas
Adam
Spearing
Dont care.

Fuck you

Jonjo is king

1. Gerrard
2. Adam
3. Meireles
4. Lucas
5. Henderson
6. Shelvey
7. Aqua
8. Spearing
9. Cole
10. Poulsen

Didn't Stevie say he was probably going to retire at 33 anyway, so why sell him when he only has two years left.

Joint 1st. Gerard/Aqua.

Usual suspects for the rest. However, the more I see Shelvey the less I like. Maybe a loan season would help.

I know nothing about Adam and Henderson so they have been allocated a temporary position.

I think we should look to sell Gerrard.. IMHO

People are little bit blinded here, with their red tinted specs.

Despite his brilliance as a Liverpool player in the past, he has been shite (by his standards) for the best part of two seasons, the team played far better last season without him in the squad.

I don't think we will see the dizzy heights Gerrard reached 3 seasons ago again, he is past his best...

On top of that he carries far too many injuries and is the other side of 30, i'd say cash in on him before he loses value.

[/quote]

I actually find that a disgusting suggestion ...... regardless of any merit it may (or may not) contain. I can imagine supporters burning flags in the streets. Just the effect on morale alone would be enough to make this a non-starter without even taking his performances into consideration. Past his best doesn't mean he's not still the best CM / RW / RB / AM we have (and red tinted glasses are still being repaired).

yeah thats what i was getting at, so i suppose i could agree less really, gerrard is my top choice

Gerrard = consistently world class over many years. Aqua = injured for half a season, shit for half a season, loaned out for a season, decent in a friendly.

Gerrard is just about hanging on to his position as our number 1 midfielder, in truth he hasnt played much in mdfield in the last couple of seasons and its arguable that Mascherano in 09/10 and Mereiles in 10/11 were better than him anyway, so the point that he will be our best midfielder for years to come is way wide of the mark. Next season is a big one for Stevie, our squad is packed full of CMs and nearly all of them are younger and fitter than him, if he cant sort his injury problems out he may become a bit part player. Kenny is clearly building for the next 4/5 years and right now its in the balance whether Gerrard will play a significant part in the team over that time

I don't rate Lucas and I am sure we can't compete at the top of the division if he's a regular starter. However, he should possibly be ahead of Shelvey (for the moment) on my list but my anti-Lucas stance has increased pro-rata with the pro-Lucas stance taken recently on this forum by normally sentient posters.

Gerrard
Meireles
Adam
Aquilani
Lucas
Shelvey
Spearing

Henderson is a bit of a non-entity at the minute because I haven't seen enough of him either way and he might play wide anyway. Is it worth putting Poulsen in? Everyone knows he's 'last'. Shelvey has the potential to be in there and I feel a bit shit on Spearing placing him bottom because he looked decent towards the end of the season.

Yeah, Aquilani and Ming have fucked off.

Sadly.
Meireles yes, Aquilani not really.
The result, we're worse off.

Apart from the fact that Pesam noted that the region of sentient existence and his own existence have parted company, Raul was the most interesting to see.

Prior to his departure he was consistently rated as 2nd or 3rd best midfielder in the squad. He hasn't even made it to London and the ink still drying on contracts but he was pilloried on here as not being all that and we're better off without him.

Every game we've played this season - bar none - have demonstrated how much he bought to this team. We've looked stale and stagnant in comparison to the end of last season when he was finding space everywhere.

Why this club has such a powerful self-sabotage mechanism will puzzle me until the day I die.

You've got it let go mate ... The way you go on about him you'd think we sold Xabi or Beardo - we haven't.

And I think we did alright against Bolton and Stoke -> we dominated them and created numerous chances. We've had one bad game (where Meirless wouldn't have had) and played two great halves against Sunderland/Wolves followed by poor halves (Meirless would have helped? Who knows).

He's gone ... We'll be fine without him.

I have kept my gob shut about this because i knew i wouldn't react well.

But a month has gone, and i still can't quite understand the logic behind selling Meireles.

He was criminally under-rated and eventually sidelined. I just do not understand the thinking behind it. He clicked very well with Suarez too. Now we have got Charlie Adam who is slower than a old lady's shopping cart and a vastly average but inexplicably over-rated Lucas leading our midfield. I cannot wait for Gerrard to return, and i hope to god we buy a decent central midfielder in this winter window. j

I'm not holding a candle for Ming - I'm simply making an observation on the mentality of so many posters on this site and, probably, supporters in general.

As to whether we'll be fine without him; time will tell but the overwhelming mountain of evidence at this point is to the contrary.

Come on mate ... Again, you're talking about this guy as if he's in the same level as Beardo or Alonso .... He had a good year last year, was a part of a great run when Kenny took over and something happens (I don't know, you don't know, everyone has ideas and that's it). We'll be ok this year with Stevie G and will be fine next year with whatever talent we bring in to replace him 'officially' (we'll get someone much better than him) and then, well ... we'll be fine and in Europe and we'll probably wait for his 'side of the story' to bring up the conversation.
