You never said it had to be central midfielders.

True, but I thought that removing Maxi, Downing and to some extent Kuyt might have given you a hint. But I'm fine with it anyway.

.......
9001. cole
.......
900001. poulsen

its difficult to throw lucas and spearing in the mix as they obviously have slightly different roles, and im surprised ive got aqua that low, but i really do rate shelvey and adam

[/quote] I'm going by the later stages of last seasons performances of spearing under dalglish as i've not seen aqua in the italian league but he wasn't that bad in the Rafa games..

1. Gerrard
2. Meireles
3. Aqualini
4. Lucas
5. Adam
6. Henderson
7. Spearing
8. Shelvey
9. Cole (he's not a centre mid though)
10. Coady
11. Poulsen (he's just shit)

I think we should look to sell Gerrard.. IMHO

People are little bit blinded here, with their red tinted specs.

Despite his brilliance as a Liverpool player in the past, he has been shite (by his standards) for the best part of two seasons, the team played far better last season without him in the squad.

I don't think we will see the dizzy heights Gerrard reached 3 seasons ago again, he is past his best...

On top of that he carries far too many injuries and is the other side of 30, i'd say cash in on him before he loses value.

We have enough strength and depth in midfield to cope without him.

1. Ming
2. Aquilani
3. Adam
4. Gerrard <--- Maybe consider Selling
5. Lucas
6. Henderson
7. Cole <--- Sell
8. Shelvey <--- Loan
9. Spearing
10. Poulsen <--- Sell

Some have correctly pointed out that Cole isn't a central midfielder. However he is in competition with the likes of Aquilani, Meireles and maybe even Gerrard for the role behind the striker(s). Hence his inclusion.

Nope no wind up.. I am serious...

He has been shite for the last 2 seasons!!

So let's just forget the years he's carried the team. Shit I fell into the trap....

Not forgetting the years carrying the team, he was a beast of a player, but for the last 2 seasons bar the odd decent performance the team had arguably been carrying him..

He is not the player he was and I don't think he will ever be again either...

What do you expect to get for him? I doubt that he's worth more to any other team than to us...

£10 - 15 mill probably, more than what we would get for him next season anyway.

if he speaks the truth about his groin finally being sorted, then great, hopefully he'll be back to his magnetic best. if not, its no less than i was expecting. We're seeing his decline, whether it be through injury or age. I think thats why we've spent time and effort buying a fuck-ton of players who can create chances, as arguably most of our chances over the past 6 years came through stevie.

not including players I feel should only play in a wide position (henderson, downing, cole).

gerrard - increasingly injury prone - 9
lucas - 7
meireles - 7
adam - 7
aqua - 7
spearing - 6
jonjo - 6

gerrard loses a point because he will play less and less.
meireles and aqua lose a point because they afraid to tackle.
lucas loses a point because hasn't as yet dominated a game.

We won't sell him, nor will we get an offer for him that befits his true value. If he's prepared to take a pay cut to stay as his career winds down, i'd keep him til the day he can't run anymore. It's like Carragher, you wouldn't sell him for much but what a quality local lad brings to the team cannot be underestimated. If you want Kelly, Wisdom and Coady to realise their true potential, they need to model their futures upon the Gerrards and the Carraghers, and you won't find a better replacement for what these two bring to the table anywhere.

I'm doing this and i'm doing this once

Gerrard-9
Lucas-7
Aqua-8
Raul-7
Spearing-6
Jonjo- infinity
poulson- -infinity

I'd agree with that, however the problem for the last 18 months was the distribution from midfield to the forward line was poor, he was mainly ineffective. Things changed when Kenny came in and he was no longer in the side, distribution from the midfield improved.

management need to recognise when gerrard isn't fully fit and allow him the time to recover from his injuries. we have strength in depth in the middle of the park and we should use that strength if gerrard isn't 100%, however when gerrard IS 100%, he should play no questions asked as he is so much better than the attacking options in the middle and on the right (not the left though).
