Rafa Benitez: Liverpool don't have to win trophies to be a success

It's quite clear that he hasn't the slightest idea what he's at and is trying to get his latest excuse lined up.

Rafael Out!

Actually, that's not strong enough.

FUCK OFF RAFA!!

That'll do.

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I don't know of a club that is successful without trophies unless escaping relegation is considered success. Someone needs to be shot!

Ironically Glock, your avatar says "I Love Rafa" ??

Wow, we've really got quite the infestation recently, don't we?

For all you in this thread banging on (quite stupidly) about how Rafa doesn't care to win trophies or the league, and how that's not the liverpool way, because of these nothing comments, how about doing it with a touch of fucking respect and dignity. Try actually putting our current situation into a modicum of perspective, recognizing both the failures and successes of Rafa's tenure thus far. I'm pretty sure reveling in who can hate our manager the most, the most frequently, and the earliest, deeming him a loser, a cunt, and telling him to fuck off, isn't precisely the liverpool way either.

Honestly it really fucking rubs me the wrong way, and I think it should rub any fair minded supporter the wrong way too. It's not because we are supportier than thou, or because you've exploded some naive view of Rafa or his capabilities. I am well aware of his limitations, I'm well aware of the situation we are in, which goes beyond Rafa, and there have been far more cogent, and FAR more palatable arguments made about why Rafa's not the man for the job, and they've been made for a couple years now. I think why it rubs me the wrong way is that every single one of you involved in this sort of thing, to a fucking man, is being an odious cunt.

Rage, I like your avatar! I haven't been around for a while and you are new to me. Are you perhaps a neglected Rafa lovechild?

I think it was imposed on him. Like satirical cabaret did to the nascent Nazis, the humour has driven him away.

Changing the formation after last week very good performance was suicidal.
Benayoun on the left after his MOM vs Manu in the hole, playing Voronin, baffling substitutions.
I think I can say it was clueless.
The fight for 4th spot will be very hard this season.
Talking about this in October is not acceptable. It should be Rafa's last season

Benayoun played on the right last week, you tool.

Yup, bang on.

This post-game race to get the most angry spiel out onto the Forum is fucking embarassing, followed by soembody inevitably boiling it down the most fucking simplistic black or white "Simple: should he stay or be sacked - Answer in my poll NOW!" debate. Fortunately for us though, it's prefaced by "This is not a kneejerk, but..."

Great, ta for that.

There's no room for objectivity, analysis, reasoned debate. It's lazy, narrow-minded shite, pedalled by fucking clueless cunts. For every good post one reads on this site, you've gotta trawl through 1000 utterly shite ones too.

That's utter bollocks, Ryan.

There are many, many rational posters on either side of this debate - They far outweight the likes of Glock's myopic rubbish.

And please explain how, when we've lost half of our 14 'competitve' matches this season so far, that still constitutes "knee-jerk"...

Knee jerk is just the standard term isn't it? I think the point people are making is that there are alot of people who aren't considering the unforeseeable that's been thrown ours, and the teams way.

Agreed. We really are in the eye of the perfect (shit) storm.

But let's not call everybody who has less than 100% confidence in Rafa a knee-jerker, 'cos that's rubbish.

What exactly was unforeseeable ?

Lots of injury prone players that Rafa signed getting injured ?

You mean like johnson, skrtel, riera, n'gog etc at the weekend, none of whom are in any way injury prone? Or torres and gerrard? It's hardly the injurys of aurelio and agger that have cost us, given one of them wasn't available for practically the whole of last season - when we finished 2nd.

It might be contributory but we've had problems over international callups with masher, bad luck with decisions (the beachball fuckup and degens sending off).

Hold him accountable for how thin the squad is, but I don't think he can be held responsible for how decimated the squad has been of late.

Even aquilani, did people want him to go for 2nd or 3rd best again, or did they want him to think of the longterm future of the club? The same people bemoaning that decision were the ones moaning we went for pennant instead of alves.
