I've slept on this now and I think there's more than meets the eye here I agree. Purslow could be playing a blinder here and it could be his way of getting the true state of the club out there by using SOS. It could be indeed as it appears that SOS are releasing their version of the truth. Or their version could be completely wrong. I still don't agree with a lot of their methods twhatever. This could also be a clever plan between Purslow and SOS but that's going a bit too conspiracy theorist for me and would make a mockery of SOS claims that the truth must be told.

I can't believe Purslow would have risked saying anything which could even remotely be understood in the way this has been reported, were he answerable directly to H and G. Either he's not, or SoS are lying through their teeth.

Either way, if Purslow does have to go because of this, SoS should be lynched for it.

The present owners have made it clear that they will not invest more money of their own; they have already invested around £130 million. We will not be like Manchester City or Chelsea as we are living within our means.

It's open to interpretation though. I doubt Gillett is skint after selling the Canadiens.

I have no money to spend on trips to Liverpool at the moment, but I'm not skint.

SoS appointed themselves our messengers. None of us asked them to do that, or then to behave in a way which makes them look even more dishonest than the owners they're criticising. In 10 months Purslow's brought in a vastly better sponsorship deal than Parry managed in 10 years. Losing him would be far too high a price to pay to feed SoS' vanity.

Its the bit where he says they are desperate to sell and have no money to invest Ross.... that bit....Ok im sure they aint going to be short of hobnobs for their cuppas but...

Personally i think its a stupid idea for SoS to release minutes like they have if they are possibly going to make Purslows job more difficult, especially if he had been shooting from the hip and was talking honestly.

Most sane people know the owners are unable and unsuitable by now so to jeapordise a straight talking GM who wants the best for the club just to sensationalise the situation and engender yet more pointless and counter productive bad feeling towards obvioulsy useless owners... not worth it IMO.
