I think rodgers would be a bit foolish to shift andy so quickly. HE would offer a lot and he would be the perfect spearhead of his formation (providing he plays a similar formation to swansea)
Exactly. As you say, he's almost certainly just keeping his options open and waiting to see how 'teachable' Andy is.

The way I see it; Carroll's shite, doesn't fit into his plans or style of play, and we haven't "got a bucketload of money to throw around".
Please God let him sell the big oaf. I didn't think I could have been anymore impressed with how BR has started with us, but if he pulls this off he's going straight into my wank bank. Toot de fucking suite.

I did. Granted, he didn't seem enamoured with carroll, but i'm putting it down to the fact he hasn't had a chance to speak to the lad yet. Aqua=spoke to, bellamy=spoke to, cole= spoke to, carroll=not yet. Hes not going to say carroll will be hear next year if he doesn't know it himself.
Perhaps he talked like he could go, but its down to the lack of a discussion. If i just took over at a club, i wouldn't want to say "oh he's staying and its all ridiculous" if i hadn't had a chance to lay my vision out for the player. Theres a chance carroll might go "nah, i want to play 98% of the time and guarantees i won't be subbed", which would be ludicrous and then when sold would undermine BR.

Asked about the Milan speculation and he just said "he's a good player, Andy. And he'll always be linked with teams. I've had a chance to speak to him and he knows where he stands. He'll always be linked with teams cos he's a very good player."
He then said he wasn't aware of any enquiries for him. Then he was asked if Carroll was part of his plans
and he said "initially it's just about assessing the squad.." and then he went into a generic answer about looking at all the players, including the likes of Cole and AA.
Iow the players need to impress him with their attitude, commitment and hunger.
The assesment will determine the future of several players.
