I still can’t understand why a team filled with such top talent as Newcastle struggled against Spurs....

It’s a mystery...

Perhaps pressure, pressure of new owners, no matter how rich, or how good for the club they appear, initially affecting mentality… ..

I think its because the Saudi funded pay rises only take effect from Nov 1st. With the higher wage bill from that date they will shoot up the league

Also, as long as they don’t do anything rash that won’t make any difference ... like change their manager.

Fortunately, Ange Postecoglou isn’t available.

Lewangoalski

15 in 11 games, who better than Salah? I think he’d argue he is.

Look at Werners scoring record in Germany compared to the PL. Even Taiwo Awoniyi, who we just sold there has six goals in eight games.

Lewa is top class, no doubt, but league is easier to score in.

Idk what it is about Werner, because even for Germany national team he has 10 goals in 18 games so it must be down to Lampard /Tuchel....mostly Lampard I'd say.

Taiwo you can't really judge because he hasn't played in the Prem..

Sane moved from Prem to Bundesliga and has found it harder to score.

And it’s a one team league. Lewa is world class no doubt but the competition just isn’t there.

Edit: whoosh

Arsenal XI - Ramsdale Tomayishu Gabriel White Tierney Partey Odegaard Smith-Rowe Saka Pepe Aubameyang

Palace XI - Guaita Ward Andersen Guehi Mitchell Mccarthur Milijojevic Gallagher Ayew Edouard Benteke

What an effort by Pepe matched by a brilliant save by Guaita but Aubameyang much sharper than the RB to get the rebound.

1-0 to the Arsenal

Edouard only 1 looking like a threat, rest of his team mates shit....granted their missing Zaha.

Interesting first 45 at the Emirates – Arteta opted for a very attacking, you could say naively attacking lineup with Aubameyang, Saka, Pepe, Smith-Rowe and Odegaard all on the pitch and Partey the only player with any kind of defensive nous. That worked for about 15 minutes, during which they scored a goal, but since then it's been all Palace – Arsenal simply don't have anyone who can win the ball in midfield. Palace lacked just a bit of quality in the final pass or shot to covert their dominance to goals, but if it continues like this they will score eventually.

BENTEKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 1-1

Ayew robbing Partey and Benteke finishes it off nicely.

Saka withdrawn at HT with an injury, Lokonga on.

Tough on Palace that to concede with the last kick.....Ref couldv'e blown the whistle right after the corner was cleared but allowed 30 secs more and Lacazette was there to pounce .

That was harsh for Palace, but have to say, that Arsenal player Tomiyaso... looks exactly like the bad guy from the film Karate Kid 2

He's absolutely shit as well, you can tell he's a CB being asked to play RB, not comfortable at all and has no attacking instinctiveness.

Seb Coates has been involved in all 3 of Sporting's goals this evening.

2 goals from a corner, and won a pen from another corner after his header hit Goblin's hand.....

Besiktas clearly not learning their lesson.

Alex Texeira scored this goal which wouldv'e made it 2-3 going in HT but was sadly ruled out.

Leicester bottling it in Europe again, classic rodgers. 1 down in Moscow.

Them and Napoli who were favourites to go through could end up both crashing out.
