Chelsea and Palace as 2 of the last 3 games of the season again. Odds on that?!

Using Chelsea's CL fixtures this season as a reference, our CL games will probably be spaced out like above.

Mightn't be such a bad thing to get a start like that. It's the first season where we won't really have a huge change of players. We should be pretty gelled with maybe two new players in the first XI. If we mange to get 5 points from the first three games, we'd be laughing. 6 of the next 7 are easy on paper.

Could maybe do the Swansea at Home on the 28th. Kind of a post Xmas pre NY drinkies 🙂

I'm not liking that start at all. You need to get a few early victories to build the confidence, get people talking about how boss you are and put fear into prospective opponents. That win against Stoke at the start of last season and the several victories afterwards were vital how we were taken seriously and carried on for the rest of the campaign.

I think we have a good chance of making a great start. Southampton & Spurs have new managers who will be trying to implement new systems and I believe we will rise to the City game. We owe Villa we haven'y beaten them at home for a couple of seasons If we come out with more than 4 points it is more than the corresponding fixtures last season.

Lambert's potential first game for Liverpool at Anfield will be against his old team. Talk about mixed emotions!

My brief analysis on each club's fixture's list (of cos subjected to rescheduling due to TV and/or cup competition):

[article=http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27888604]Half of Arsenal's first 8 games are against team from the top 6 (Everton A, Man City H, Tottenham H, Chelsea A).

September till mid October is a tough run of games for Aston Villa (Liverpool A, Arsenal H, Chelsea A, Man City H, Everton A). April isn't too kind either with away trips to Man Utd, Tottenham and Man City.

Burnley's 1st 2 home matches are against Chelsea and Man City. Last 3 fixtures of the year are Tottenham A, Liverpool H and Man City A. Their 3 home matches between March to April are Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal.

Potential title deciders in April and May for Chelsea (Man Utd H, Arsenal A, Liverpool H)

Crystal Palace could go on a winless streak for away games between November and December with matches against Man Utd, Swansea, Tottenham, Man City. They could play a part in title race with games against Man City H, Chelsea A, Man Utd H and Liverpool A in April and May.

Everton face 4 of the top 7 sides in their first 6 matches (Arsenal H, Chelsea H, Liverpool A, Man Utd A). They have a challenging Feb with 3 of the 4 games against the top 4 (Liverpool H, Chelsea A, Arsenal A).

4 of Hull's last 6 matches are against top 7 sides (Liverpool H, Arsenal H, Tottenham A, Man Utd H).

Leicester face 4 of the top 7 sides (Everton H, Chelsea A, Arsenal H, Man Utd H) in their first 5 matches. Between Feb and March, they have a run of games against Arsenal A, Everton A, Chelsea H, Man City A.

Between Feb to Apr, Liverpool meet 6 of the top 8 (Everton A, Tottenham H, Southampton A, Man City H, Man Utd H, Arsenal A) in 8 fixtures.

Man City meet 3 of the top 4 (Liverpool H, Arsenal A, Chelsea H) in their 1st 5 matches. Between Dec to Jan, they have a run of 5 (against teams potentially fighting relegation - Leicester, Crystal Palace, West Brom. Burnley, Sunderland) + 3 (last season's top 5 - Everton A, Arsenal H, Chelsea A) games.

Between March to April, Man Utd face 5 of the top 6 (Tottenham H, Liverpool A, Man City H, Chelsea A, Everton A) in a run of 6 matches.

In Dec, Newcastle face 4 of the top 7 (Chelsea H, Arsenal A, Man Utd A, Everton H) in 5 matches.

Between Feb to April, QPR have a run of home games against Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea.

From end Nov to mid Jan, Southampton play the top 7 teams (Man City H, Arsenal A, Man Utd H, Everton H, Chelsea H, Arsenal H, Man Utd A) in 7 of their 9 matches.

In Dec, Stoke meet 4 of the top 7 (Man Utd A, Arsenal H, Chelsea H, Everton A) in 5 games.

Sunderland have 2 runs of 3 tough games on a trot (Chelsea H, Man City H, Liverpool A - in Dec and Man City A, Liverpool H, Tottenham A - in Jan).

In Nov, Swansea have a run of Everton A, Arsenal H, Man City A.

Tottenham have a couple of back to back challenging games (Everton H, Chelsea A | Man Utd H, Chelsea H | Arsenal H, Liverpool A).

West Brom face top 7 teams (Everton H, Tottenham A, Liverpool A, Man Utd H) in 4 of their 5 matches between Sep to Oct. The same scenario is repeated in Apr - May where they face Liverpool H, Man Utd A, Chelsea H, Arsenal A in 4 of their last 5 matches.

West Ham have back to back games against Liverpool and Man Utd in Sep and Jan as well as back to back games against Chelsea and Arsenal in Dec and Mar.[/article]

Newly promoted teams early in the season isnt always easy. Utd trying to implement new signings and a new approach may find that tough.

If they dont win the pressure will build like motherfucker

Bingo! http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2014/final/nextseason/

If the Capital One cup game is at home that would be well easy to get a load of tickets for for Drinkies

I got a load of spares last year for the Drinkies coz people often pull out of going as it's so close to Xmas. I had about 9 tickets at one stage I think. Not sure if same would happen when it's Arsenal we are playing,

I don't think that it's the same against Arsenal, Dave.

Last year was Cardiff, Fulham the year before. Easy.

I think I'll go for Swansea and maybe combine it with a visit to the PDC World Championship.

Not keen on them opening 3 fixtures at all, but what do you do.

Anyone know when Sky and BT are announcing which games they're showing?

I'm made up we're going to City and Spurs early actually. Spurs is a team we don't know what to expect from given the new manager, so it'll be good to get that away game out of the way early before they get into their stride (if they do). City away is always tough, so getting it done early means that we have yet another tricky tie ticked off before the heavier schedules in the subsequent months of the first half of the season.

By the time we reach busy December, we only have Man Utd (away) and Arsenal (home) to play in back-to-back weeks - these two games are sandwiched by easier games (on paper) against Leicester, Sunderland, Burnley and Swansea. December last season was really rough with away games against Spurs, City and Chelsea in quick succession so the new season's schedule seems better in that regard.

I quite like this season's fixtures list. February is obviously tough but the fact that we play Spurs and City at home should help a bit.

I like that draw a lot. We will be top at Xmas/New Year again and that should inspire us to kick on as we did last season. Strengthen well and we can win it !

Was day dreaming earlier imagining about England winning the World Cup and the impact it would have on Liverpool next season and beyond, imagine Liverpool next season with a team of full of World Cup winners strutting around, it would be more enjoyable than England actually winning it, the confidence our team would have from it would be immense, other teams would crumble in awe at us, refs would bend over and give us everything, we would get a free pass in the media, trophies would get won, the best of the best players would want to play for us...

Then i woke up, nice thought though.

Guys, I'm aggressively perusing tickets for Arsenal game to coincide with Drinkies. Do any of the regular attendee's fancy it and need a ticket? I'm getting lend of cards with 13 credits on it so I can purchase during first day of sale.

I'll need cash up front before July 14th as i'll be buying in bulk. Let me know asap.

I'll try with my 4 cards but I don't really think there's much of a chance.
