i like the idea of him in the middle of the three in a 4231. He’s got great feet and Ice in his veins for one so young.

It’s the confidence, I’m not sure what his parents told him growing up but it has done him no harm

Critchley has definitely given Blackpool much more discipline and a sharper strategy. But their stamina, even given the changes, seems to be shite.

Minamino and Jones look like they'll feature prominently this year. And Keita seems to be getting a more integral part of this side now.

Origi does seemed abit lazy at times. Even when he is chasing down a ball pressurizing the opponents, it is not with much conviction.

I think Minamino can do the Firmino thing.

Jones seems more like Henderson or Gerrard. He just pops up everywhere and do everything. Really takes responsibility.

I think hes got a higher ceiling than Henderson. He may not become as good a player because there are still alot of variables given his age, but he seems to have more ability on the ball than Hendo.

Really like how clever Elliot is on the pitch. Could turn into a brilliant little player.
Well played Minamino. Firmino looking better today, and Jones seems to be ever improving.

Agreed, and for that reason I'm not sure they'll necessarily end up playing the same kind of role in the team, as I'd expect Jones to be used in more of a predominantly attacking role as a general rule.

Elliott impresses me each time I see him. Despite the impression that ******* haircut might create, he seems to combine precocious talent with a good, professional attitude. Very promising IMO.

Agreed. Happy with the way both of them are shaping up, but Hoever just looks to have something extra.

If we do not get another CB, I think Hoever steps up, given both he and Gomez can also cover FB. And, I do think he is neck and neck with Williams, even though Williams got ahead last year. Hoever has a better first touch and is more two-footed.

Although, I think a Klavan-like purchase makes most sense. I certainly would not send Hoever on loan though, given the tight schedule and increased likelihood for injuries.

He's also got an arrogance that he belongs at this level. It took Henderson years later to get that level of swag. I think he'll develop faster as a result.

It's just a pre-season friendly, but it still bothers me a bit. Do FSG actually watch our games? You'd imagine if they saw our recent performances they'd realise this 'Jurgen will bring on the kids and we'll still maintain our momentum' crap is, well, crap.
Was having a convo with a mate about this. Henry isn't a football fan. Neither is Tom Werner or any of the lizards in Boston for that matter. You can tell - based on the fact that we have allowed Chelsea to sign Ziyech, Werner, and Havertz this window.
