If we do not get another CB, I think Hoever steps up, given both he and Gomez can also cover FB. And, I do think he is neck and neck with Williams, even though Williams got ahead last year. Hoever has a better first touch and is more two-footed.

Although, I think a Klavan-like purchase makes most sense. I certainly would not send Hoever on loan though, given the tight schedule and increased likelihood for injuries.

Id put Hoever ahead of him at the moment, he just seems a but further ahead in his development both physically and technically. Very impressed by how composed some of our younger players are, they want to get on the ball and arent afraid to compete with senior pros.

That's impressive but that's not what he normally should do. He should never be that far back. That's where Hendo, Wijnaldum or Fabinho should be.

Maybe, but how horrible it must be to defend and we would really not want our holding back to pick up the ball there and completely vacate the center. Would be okay from an attacking center mid, which is half the role Firmino plays.

Yeah, it was very impressive.

Watched the finishing drills on LFCTV – the "team" of Mo, Origi, Minamino, Keita and Phillips won. Taki is very precise with his placement, Salah is masterful and Origi's right foot shot is just vicious. Fabinho and Sadio showed some nice finishes on the other team. Hendo fully participated, I also spotted Harry Wilson and Neco, but no sign of Brewster.

Mo has looked deadly in training, but nearly incvincible in the pre season games.
Lets hope he is ready for Leeds.

[article]Liverpool held a secret friendly after Saturday's 4-3 win over Leeds United.

The Reds were given a scare at Anfield against Marcelo Bielsa's newly promoted side.

And the Express says Jurgen Klopp organised a friendly with Huddersfield's B team on Sunday for his players who did not face the Whites.

Takumi Minamino on target for the hosts in a match that ended 1-1.

Loris Karius once again wore a Liverpool shirt as Caoimhin Kelleher was in action for the Under-23s against Everton.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Adrian, James Milner, Joel Matip and Divock Origi were also in action.[/article]

I read it as kelleher at the U23 and both Karius and Adrian played against Huddersfield. Seems daft giving Karius any minutes ahead of our number 2. Unless Karius wore the kit on the bench.

Karius wasn't particularly bad for us, bar Roma game and the final

Now, I can't see a way back for him, but that doesn't mean klopp doesn't

Both our main backup keepers have cost us the champions League, just one of them was meant to have a concussion

Bar two of our most important games that season?
Bruh...

I remember him being pretty terrible against I think Bournemouth in the league amongst others, had stinkers in both Roma games, made a howler in the Man City game where they had a goal wrongly disallowed and then the CL final. I'm no fan of Adrian but Karius was shite. Ming was better.

He made shitloads of mistakes. He was/is garbage. The end.

Or in the shopping window. I dunno. Maybe Klopp likes Germans.

Does he though? We haven't bought another German since Klopp came in. Werner - No. Kai - No. Goretzka - No. Dahoud - No.
If anything, Klopp hates Germans.

Well, he wanted them though. Add Draxler too.
We signed Matip, he's pretty German.
