I've got PSG finishing 20th, Celtic 18th (they'll lose at Villa) and City 17th (assuming PSG & City draw with each other and both win their other game). City could be a Last 16 opponent for us or Barca.
Did another bit of playing around with that predictor.
I think there’s a fairly good chance that Real and City land in those 15-18 spots - they’re the big beasts (along with PSG) that I’d prefer to avoid.
The other teams I’d prefer to avoid are ones that like to sit deep and counter - Inter & Athletico Madrid spring to mind and I’d add Atalanta because they’ve become a bit of a bogey team for us.
So what we want, first of all, is a PSG win against City, because they’ll beat Brugge at home in their last game, but 12 points will probably have them finish 19-22.
Real are slightly different, they’ll likely win their remaining 2 games and finish on 15 points - so we need enough teams to get to 12-14 points to get Real up into 14th or above.
A Celtic win takes them to 12. We need to beat Lille, then it’s up to Slots old club Feyenoord to take points of them in their last game last game to potentially get themselves above City and Lille below Real.
ideally looking at the likes of Sporting, Monaco, Benfica, Celtic, Feyenoord, Lille, Stuttgart, Brest and PSV possibly filling in those mid table positions and keeping City & Real apart.
Although - Real drawing City in a playoff with the winner playing Barca is an even better result.
In terms of QF - Dortmund, AC Milan, Villa or Juventus would be likely - Inter, Atletico, Bayern, also possible.
