Trent's not really a right back tbf.. But he is the best option we have and plays that position very well..

He is now, absolutely. Before this season i just couldn't see what he did though. I felt he just ghosted through games without offering anything.
Wijnaldum is an interesting case because he's brilliant when paired with the right midfielders. That workman-like midfield of milner hendo and Gini made them all look average. Give them a platform like fabinho, and they become more impressive. Add in a shaqiri or deeper firmino and he's all the more impressive

Are we really going to Spain after this match? Fuck it off and get some cold weather training in. There's obviously a lot of science and theory behind the trip to Dubai, but going out and playing footy in the middle of a desert for two weeks, then coming back and playing in the fucking snow must be a shock to the system. Send them off to lapland, the bottling twats.

Spain will be warm enough that injuries are less likely whilst training, &, most importantly, it means they can keep the players out of the spotlight & away from social media etc, in a controlled environment, which I suspect is equally as important as anything they'll do on the training pitch.
If we play like how we have the last two matches, we'd be blindly optimistic to think we'd trash them.

I’m optimistic we’ll steamroll them due to the fact that we can play people in their proper positions, potentially 3 returning from injury/illness and Virgil will be back to his best.

If the players use a bit of common sense & play their normal game then it shouldn't be a huge problem when we're in possession.
When they have it it could be a PITA if they loft balls into the box continually.
If VVD is back to his usual imperious self, then fine, but I doubt he'll quite back to that level, & Matip isn't helping (fuck I'd love Lovren back) him either.
As such there may be a few hairy moments if they do try to loft the ball over & it is windy enough to carry it randomly.
