Keita should be the second mid if he does play...
Yep.

He looks so much better when he's there cos he can pick the ball up in that central position & drive forwards or pick a pass. He's done it effectively a few times & come close to scoring himself a couple of times & been let down by someone else's poor finishing when he's put them through.

That luck won't stick round forever, if he keeps doing it then it'll click.

We desperately need someone to be doing that, we haven't had anyone doing it since Chamberlain got injured.

I wouldn't be 100% against a CM of

-----Gini----Fabs------
--------Milner-----------

Given freedom we know Millie has good end product, it is when he is played as a DM i think we take away some of his qualities.

Apparently VVD lost four kilos when he came back ill. Hopefully he's back to his old self now.

Yep, solid, reliable and all-round pretty good indeed.
He keeps everything ticking in midfield. Constantly 'recycling possession' (to use modern parlance), he's become a ball winner much more so this season than ever before, picks the right pass forwards at the right time, & has been a solid foil next to Fabinho (not surprising that Fabinho didn't look nearly as good without Gini alongside him).

I was always a little nonplussed by him, esp when he would just go missing in almost every away game, but he's improved dramatically, to the point where he is arguably the most important player in the midfield.

Yeah, although that's partly due to the quality of competition in that midfield. He's vital and a stand-out now, but I think we need to be cautious with the praise given the second-best midfielder is 33 year old James Milner.

I think VVD coming has helped him a bit, in the sense he's got a mate in the team who's very influential - probably makes him feel more secure and supported. He's been noticeably more vocal and forceful this season especially.

Yeah Gini is just one of those good players. Everything comes natural to him. He has strength, pace and a good touch.

More than confident that we'll win this one, Bournemouth have lost their last eight on the road - not a lot to suggest it won't be nine come early Saturday evening.

Lovren still out - might be back for Bayern. He bloody well better be.

Gomez - about a month away from playing again.

Trent trained again yesterday, should be ready.

Wini should be ready.

Hendo will need a test.

A right back playing at right back, a fully fit Virgil and gini starting will make us a lot stronger than our previous two games.
