You'd sacrifice a midfielder for a megaphone ? Milners tough guy act was cringey enough against Man U I really hope not to see a repeat of the worst player on the pitch lecturing everybody else on their responsibilities.
Milner wasn't the worst player on the pitch, not by a long shot. He struggled with the pace of the game, sure, but he was consistently the only one making runs in the box (weirdly), as well as trying to tackle players.
Henderson, van dijk, and trent were much much worse

I think he'd be ok with a technician in midfield with him. Problem is, when we're at our bare bones, he's always surrounded by players similar to himself

Klopp came from a double-pivot system at Dortmund, so it's not like he's wedded to a 4-3-3 philosophically. It's just the formation he chose for the squad based on the players we had at the time - Henderson, Can, Allen, Milner. And he just decided to build on that instead of changing the whole makeup.
There were times when Shaqiri was here that he tried a 4-2-3-1. He's going to it now because we literally don't have the personnel to field a 3-man midfield.
But we do have the personnel to field a 3 man midfield, because we are fielding one. If i'm wrong, fair enough, but i can imagine klopp just shifting elliott or hendo to the left, rather than it being a pivot. If Carvalho was there instead of elliott, i might have agreed.
Won't be surprised with a draw or another loss.
With Firmino that is a 4-3-2-0
