Ox did really well tonight. Apart from the spaz moment he tried to keep the ball in.
I don’t get the whole “crap performance” lark. This is a top team at home and it’s always going to be very tough there. Great result and well done the boys.
Hmm true. Maybe they meant at the group stage. They lost at home to Chelsea in Feb….of this year.
YouTube - always YT.Any highlights links for those of us that could not watch - sadly. Sounds like a cracker.
We're waiting on @Brizzle to start the thread. Keep it in your pants Dreamy !So do we start Keita at OT?
Still says it on the BBC webpage this morning - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58958584They amended it later.

Great! Sell him before the next dip.The weirdest thing about tonight's game is that Ox has been very good.
I still dont get why we should be indebted to the referee. He did his job. Hermoso stupidly fouled Jota - pen.
Giménez dived - not a pen. It was quite clear and soft penalties arent given anymore.
I don't think it's that simple. The referee was under massive pressure with some of those decisions and - after an iffy start - largely resisted it.
Ah yours was the one dusted last week I assume.Still says it on the BBC webpage this morning - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58958584
I feel I should write a stiffly worded letter to my MP about it ... but I don't have an MP

Airey Neave 😉Ah yours was the one dusted last week I assume.
Agree with JJ here. Takes a lot for a referee to admit that their decision was a 'clear and obvious error', most PL referees would use the replay to justify their original decision rather than look at it with fresh eyes for what it is. The crowd was wild, the bench was screaming at him, the players surrounding him. It would have been very easy to stick with the penalty
Yeah, as I said, I was impressed that he actually overturned it. He made the right call and blocked out the surroundings. Credit to him for getting it right.
Can nearly forgive him for the ridiculous yellow on Milner.
Me likeyEh no Fab, Hendo, and Curtis.
This was my subtle nudge! We're waiting on @Brizzle to start the thread. Keep it in your pants Dreamy !
Both those things can be true at the same time. We were largely outplayed even against 10 men. Our midfield was over run and our high line collapsed repeatedly. We are heavily indebted to our goalkeeper and the referee for the 3 points there.
But its still a very good result against one of the top 5 teams in Europe and puts us in a great position to top the group with games to spare.
I thought the ref was shocking for the period between the red card and our penalty. Why? He did his job ... not like we got any favors.

If it we go with Henderson and Fabs, then hell yes we start Volley KeitaSo do we start Keita at OT?

Last night he did nothing wrong as such. Could have been better, but for me he was less of a liability than Milner. think that we forget just how good ALT are on the ball. Even with ten men they put us under pressure
Completely agree with this, he caved to a lot of pressure from the Atletico players on the field. But those mis-judgements were mostly on soft decisions. When it came to the big calls, he had the bollocks to give the decisions, despite the pressure from the crowd and the Tom Jones tribute act on the touch line. Fair play. That IS unusual...I thought the ref was shocking for the period between the red card and our penalty.
I don't get how some people can't see the obvious flaws in Keita. He's obviously got a certain amount of skill but his concentration doesn't exist.
