Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is being linked with Liverpool, according to reports in England

With the Reds' current Coach Rafa Benitez's long time link with a move to Juventus becoming apparently nearer every day Prandelli could arrive at Anfield as the Spaniard's replacement.

Despite the former Juve player also being linked with a move to the Bianconeri Liverpool's owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, reportedly made enquiries about his availability.

Prandelli has yet to sign a new contract that Fiorentina offered to him several weeks ago.

There was also speculation in Florence during Fiorentina's Champions League games that the two parties met to talk over their respective futures.

There's a long list of things they were never meant to do....

Christ, if it's true they seem intent on bringing in a manager who has never won anything and never managed a club as big as us.

You have a fair enough point there.

But he is one of the most promising up and coming managers.

Look what he's done with Fiorentina after their relegation to Serie C... not only that, but what he acheived with clubs like Parma and the young talent he has nutured.

It would be an interesting appointment.

But I think he could be Juventus' 2nd choice if they fail to get Rafa.

Makes sense we should get second best then, the way things have been going!!

I don't think making Prandelli 2nd choice is in a way a reflection of his ability.

It's more about a sense of pride for Alessio Secco getting the man he has been after for quite a while ... since he has dismal record of aquiring his targets for Juve in the past.

It would smell of intent to have a complete rebuilding process rather than a sudden return to the (near) top.

Today's "Times" says he is.

BTW the story attributes Juve's interest to someone called Beppe Marotta, their "newly appointed sporting director". Is Secco still around?

Bring Jovetic with you Prandelli and ditch that awful coat

And Juan Vargas would walk into our line up.

I really like Prandelli.. And that Jesus fellow from Benfica..

Anyone that keep O'Neil or McLeish away from us!

There isn't much to suggest he's any better than either of those. This is exactly the sort of appointment I would most fear.
