Practically 1/4 of the way through the season....

Relax sir -- He's signed a potentially world class midfielder in Allen, helped advance some of the stars of our academy and instituted a system that may (or may not) succeed in achieving our goals as a club. That's 'something' already ... It does seem as if you DO care how he does things (you'd rather he not talk etc) - sorry for misinterpreting.

He's played the kids mainly because circumstances dictated it. There were plenty of other promising kids he could have played last night instead of the likes of Cole, but instead he was happy to play him and then scapegoat him after the finish. For all his cuddles and claptrap he is clearly too insecure to shoulder responsibility when things don't go according to plan, and the players will get the knife in the back as a consequence. But on and on the hype continues. They'll be erecting a statue soon in honour of his substituions in the derby game he didn't win.

That's just crazy exaggeration Macca. The derby game where a stupid decision robbed us of victory. I get your point, I really do, but you're overdoing it.

Sheesh mate ... You're overdoing it big time - but as I said, let's hope you're wrong.

Sunny is spot oninthis thread. For all different views on Rodgers we should at least give him the chance to build the team he wants.
I have every faith in him but patience is required.

I did that rap thing coz, well, I thought it would be funny.

Now sing along with the amended lyrics:

Now everybody from the LFC
put your mothefuckin hands up and follow me
Now everybody from the LFC
put your mothefuckin hands up and follow me

Now while JH’s trophy wife stands tough
Notice that the lizard didn’t raise his claws up
Duncan Jenkins went and got him all gassed up
Now who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
1, 2, 3 and to the 4
5th 6th 8th and right down to the floor
4 sold, 3 sold, 2 sold, 1
No buys, no class, no goals, none
This Ayres guy ain't no muthafuckin Chief Exec
Harley, Paul Smith, the man’s a fuckin wreck
We are shite, Downing is a bum
Shelvey does live in a trailer with his mom
My boy Glenjo is an Uncle Tom
But we got a bitey racist
Who winds up Ferguscum
But that's not as low as we can delve
we won thee times at home in the whole of 2012
We did get beat this year by all them chumps
Rodgers does have a pic of himself by the stairs
But we’re still here screamin', "FUCK MANCHESTER"
Don't ever try to judge us dude
You don't know what the fuck we’ve been through
Sold to the fat cunts and the lizards too
Who sold all our best players, no wonder we’re poo
But there’s no point in fans like us getting embarrassed
Raheem’s a gangsta, he’s got a harem in his garage
And Raheems making records as the world’s maddest parent
The academy and Raheem have a real good marriage
Which is good when you look at all the money they took
Our senior pros are half-way crooks
Henry’s scared to death, he’s scared to look
At the years left on Joe Cole’s contract book

Fuck the beat, I go acapella
Fuck stadium plans, fuck chang, and fucking fuck the players
Fuck y'all if you doubt me
I'm a piece of fuckin' red trash, I'll say it proudly
And fuck this league, I don't wanna win - I'm outtie
Here, tell these people something they dont know about me

Feel free to amend and improve .

At the moment, we're trying to put lipstick on a pig. If Tito Vilanova went to Stoke, and tried to get them playing tika taka, with their players, it would fall flat on its face.
I like what Rodgers is trying to do, but it is a completely different way of training and playing for all bar one of our players, so we don't currently have the players to achieve it. It will take time.
I'm not sure where everyone was expecting us to be at this stage, with a new manager, a new way of playing football, and a terrible squad? I think we're about level for the par.
I'd love us to be about the top 4, but it's going to take time for that to happen.

I'm happy, I wasn't expecting blindly that we'd do amazing this season.

Next season, at this stage, behind 3 transfers windows, and about 18months in charge, I'd expect a lot lot better.

Somewhere around here, there's a nail with a very sore head.

You're being a bit ridiculous here Ross, and yours and Ryan's 'told yer so' shite is wearing thin.

No one is 'happy' where we are. Personally I was realistic at the beginning of the season and said this is going to have to be a transition, bedding in young players and giving them the experience to push on, with a few additions. We were never going to make it in all competitions because we don't have the squad to, and the 'team' isn't good enough for the top four. That's the reality. No one is 'accepting' anything, people have just adopted a different perspective and a bigger level of patience given the shit we've been through for a few seasons pre-Rodgers.

I don't know what you're trying to gain from this. You adopt your own take on it and you and Ryan sit there like you're the only posters on here who knew we were on the wain. As Ryan said in his post, "no striker will solve this shit" - well actually, a striker would go a long way to curing some of our issues on the pitch. Whatevers going on off it is a seperate issue and it's not reflecting in the performances. The quality of what we've got is being proven in the performances. We're going to have to be patient, it's not defeatist, it's not accepting mediocrity, it's reviewing everything and having the head to be able to acknowledge that it's gonna be a long road to recovery.

We all knew that. Difference is though, we're not sat here with a smug grin scoring points over it.

A striker could maybe take us from 11th place to about 8th or 9th Mark. At best.

And then what? 'Oh we need a DM', and then 'a quality winger with pace', and 'another full-back'.

I appreciate your positivity, it's a shining light in amongst the shit. But I've got to tell you, as nauseating as you seem to find Ross, myself and whomever else bleating on about the negatives (we'd call it reality to be honest) I personally find your papering over the cracks warbling equally fucking monotonous, and frankly - embarrassing.

We are 12th in the league Mark. 12th. We just got wanked at home by Swansea in the Cup. Swansea are also ahead of us in the league - they're a better side than us.

This isn't a nismonmer, or a blip, or a 'if we win X, Y & Z we'll be back within so many points of 4th' - this is what we are. A midtable club. So if you think "well actually, a striker would go a long way to curing..." is going to solve our woes then I feel sorry for you.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you're being hopelessly naive.

This is not about "I told you so's". It's about people fucking accepting that "a striker in January" won't actually (to quote you) "go a long way to curing our issues".

Watching GkMacca implode all over this thread has been both pitiful and hilarious in equal measure. With an inordinate amount of hypocrisy thrown in.

Great post Ryan - all this wank passing the ball side to side is doing us shit. Anyway what Swansea and others have shown is - if other teams press us hard - we go to fuck anyway.

They're not even getting better at playing that way - they're getting worse. In the first few matches even Carra was scared to hoof it - now it's crept back in. The keeper has started belting the ball aimlessly forward. And as the players get near the penalty area they seem less and less able to summon up any wit or invention to create some chances, unless Suarez can do the footballing equivalent of another rock star guitar riff. That isn't progress - that's regression. Don't the players listen to the manager? Have the endless 'okays' rendered his monologues so much white noise? It's a crisis.

First I will make a point: I am NOT against Rodgers (I am still not a very big believer that he is any kind of Messaiah that knows better than every other manager, and he has got nothing to prove for it). I am not even that much against FSG (I think it is a good idea to reduce the uneccesary stupid high salaries and throw some of them down the rubbishbin. We are not winning anyway, so why go broke when not winning?).

What I can't get is what Rodgers has done so far in his career, both in his general career and his Liverpool career, to make so many people have blind faith in that his tixi taxa will ever work in England? And don't come up with he played fairly good footie with Swansea. We played fairly good footie last season and finished above Swansea. There is nothing suggesting that rolling the ball around will work in England as it does in Spain. How long are you willing to give him to get result? When has he put his mark on the team?

And for FSG, it seems like the idea of young talented cheap guys can trains themselves to be as good as experienced expensive guys. The idea is theoretically ok. But we still need leaders pulling these guys. The savings they are making now is worth nothing more than putting the club in a nice financial situation if you are to sell it within a year. The huge income is in the CL, and by saving dosh now we give the other teams the CL income, and they will use that position to park us even further behind. Maybe we can strike back in 7 years from now. But what are we supposed to do in between, if we can't even compete in the League cup? That is the kind of comeptition teams like us should aim for in this position isn't it?
