[/quote]I dunno to be honest. He looks the real deal to me. He will make mistakes of course and will have dips, but in a dozen or so games he has looked very comfortable. I dont think there is a question mark to be honest.

Whilt I don't completely disagree, I think Carra and Agger have done enough in the past to stay in the team for now, Wilson looks a good prospect to me and I'd like to see Johnson play RW
 
I would have liked to see Wilson as LB, Johnson instead of Kuyt at RM and Maxi instead of Jova at LM, but that's probably one too many change to be making from the team that played against Manc.

It's not really a cake-walk for Kenny, is it?

But i'm sure he will take the right decision and bin the likes of Jovanovic and Poulsen permanently. There is some major decision that needs to be made about Lucas, Skrtel and Kuyt as well. So we need these 5 players replaced with better players. In the mean time we should find someone in our Squad to play the roles these guys have been playing. It's not an easy job.

When is Carra back?

with regards to all three players, none of them released the ball quickly, they HAVE to take that extra touch. I add kuyt to that as well. look at the goal where we moved it quickly, 2-3 passes and torres was in on goal.

there is a difference between the tempo of the game and taking less touches to find your team mates.

We will scrape midtable with this team and the real work will be going on behind the scenes to strip half the team out, reduce the wage bill, get rid of the older players, find the right young (sexy) manager and bring in some young hungry players.
This season is a right off, stop expecting miracles. They arent coming.

Simply because what we have on the right wing is nothing but a ghost player with a touch of the rapist. We might as well try a player there than can at least beat a man and get a cross into the box. We have nothing to lose.
 
I hope Kenny realises quickly that players like poulsen,lucas ,konch,jova ,...etc are not under performing they are actually performing to their level best the maximum they can achieve which unfortunately is poor.Give chance to the players who have the potential to improve players like pacheco,kelly,jonjo,wilson ,suso,Amoo .

We all seemingly now (the vast majority) agree that bar about four or five players the squad is absolute shite.
However when Roy was here (a week ago) it was the general feeling Rafa had not left him a shite squad and it was all down to him for not getting the best out of them.
Now Kenny has arrived to universal acclaim it seems to have opened a few peoples eyes.
I think we need to make our minds up what the truth is here
I am not defending Roy in this particularly as he brought in Konchesky and Poulsen, but that is just two out of a load of dross, and the truth of our situation lies somewhere between Hodgson and Benitez, with , in my opinion, the latter sharing the majority of the blame for the state of the squad.
Blackpool were a much better team than us again yesterday, linking passes, nipping in and around our players, great movement looking confident. If they had Torres, Gerrard and Reina they would we a gazillion times better than us.
Kenny needs to convince the owners on the dire state of our squad. I don't think that involves selling anyone at the moment, it needs building up.
Oh how we miss Javier.

I agree with a lot of what you say there, Vlad.

Of course Roy had to go though and the first good thing to come out of his sacking is that it should now be obvious to everyone how bad our squad is and they should have at least a bit of clue about what needs to be done. Roy's sacking may not bring instant improvement but at least it should open a way for us to get things right.
 
I'm not sure there's enough choice or availability of player out there for us to sign quickly. I think Kenny is going to have to work with what he's got. He may turn to some of the talented reserves we have. Whatever he does it's going to be an anxious time.
