Insignificance

Another point added. Just six to go until we are were we belong.

Frustrating at times. We lack rythm and pace. Should have won.

Clean sheet again. That we need to do again this season to achieve CL.

Sturridge & Lallana have to start the next game.

Besides that, Klopp needs to shake off this annoying stubbornness he has, for persevering what he has beyond half time, when it:

a) clearly isn't working and isn't going to work
b) it hasn't worked previously, many times, in exactly he same scenario

Why is it always the 60th-70th minute?

We didn't play well and, in general, we haven't played well for months, give or take the odd game. We have it all to do in the Summer.

@mark1975 - Studge started two games against Soton and did what?
He's FAR better and more dangerous against tired legs ... He's not capable of giving us 90 minutes anymore.

We should just ply 4-4-1-1 with Coutinho behind Firmino and give Origi a break.

We are we even debating this? Klopp will say "same again" for the next game, why do all our managers lack invention or risk taking? Klopp was known for bringing players through at [edit] Dortmund [I had a brain fart], all he does for us is stick um on the bench and use them sparingly.

It's not always 60-70 minutes. He made a change at half time and bought on Coutinho and the Flabby Melt. We won.

We looked more likely to score when he came on, the other games he was peripheral and clearly well out of sorts and short on match fitness. Today was different, he was sharp and looked like he could make a difference.

One game, where he rested both of them and it backfired. Let's not pretend that was the norm, they both would normally have started and we struggled, so it was a no brainer. We've played another 35 games this season, many of which he has hesitated and hesitated in.

We also complain when we don't play the same team week in week out.

Who can remember bitching because Rafa put a different team out each week?

We moaned because he tinkered too much. Klopp doesn't take many (any?) risks at all. It's a soft comparison, and no, people don't moan when we don't play the same team, because Klopp generally more or less always plays the obvious team, going off his previous selections and his tendencies. It's all a bit predictable, like the performances.

If you win, I can understand, but if you are squeaking 1-0 or 0-0s then something needs to be done.

Yeah, we did but we also lost control of the match as Southampton looked more likely too after our subs.

Which by definition is not 'always'.

How does that contradict what I said? He's much better against tiring legs & it's silly to think he'll be able to do that for 90 minutes when he's shown he can do that how many times in the last year? Let's maximize what he can give us ...

I think his hunger may be due to the fact he wants to earn a move ... He plays well, scores goals etc, he'll get a move ... He doesn't, he'll be a bench warmer again next season

Intensely annoying and frustrating game, although we got what we deserved and Southampton got what they came for.

We were listless, lacking in invention and pace, and offered almost zero goal threat. Far too many players started who should never be in a first XI for a club that aspires to win trophies. We missed Mane's quality, pace, aggression and finishing ability so badly. We're a one man team really.

Klopp picked a side nobody wanted, and then waited too long to make any changes. If we don't get top 4 we cannot complain, because we have thrown away points to teams below us all season, with dreadful performances against Southampton (four times so far this season), Palace, Burnley, Swansea, Sunderland, Boro, Hull, Bournemouth among others.

Dismal, really. Klopp needs a great summer of transfer activity and a trophy and/or Top 4 finish next season or he'll be sacked.

Mignolet (7) More good catching, but really had little to do. Reminded everyone why he shouldn't be our first choice in goal with some comedy defending in the second half.

Clyne (6) Very busy and solid, which is typical for Clyne. Mane's absence meant he had little support in attack, with no runners helping out and nothing to really aim for in the box, because we didn't have any strikers or finishers on the pitch until Sturridge arrived.

Matip (6) Not overly busy, and aside from one or two silly moments, wasn't troubled too much. Always willing to come forward with the ball.

Lovren (6) A few gallops to smother rare attacks, but wasn't overly stretched.

Milner (6) Perhaps tempting to take a point off for the missed penalty, but it was a very fine save. Again saw lots of the ball, but there wasn't anyone worth passing to most of the time.

Lucas (4) The usual club-footed display, when his lack of movement and quality on the ball makes his continual presence at the club an ongoing fucking disgrace.

Wijanldum (n/a) Impossible to rate, given he didn't seem to be corporeally present, the shithouse fucking ghost

Can (6) The only real bright spot in midfield or attack, he had a few shots and at least got involved.

Coutinho (4) He flitted about and tried to make things happen, but he was wasteful, lost possession and didn't create much of note. Well below his usual level.

Firmino (3) A fucking atrocity. We all know he's slow and not a very good finisher - that debate has long concluded - but this was just hopeless. Never looked like scoring, and simply pissed away possession time after time, without any clue or redeeming features to his display whatsover

Origi (2) Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Someone should print this out in big bold letters and staple it to Lucarse's forehead.

The game was as shite as Brendans ratings.
Poor all around.

Soton didnt create much and it feels awful that Milner missed that penalty.
Fraser Forster is a big massive cunt mind.

Ah well, one more point added but a lot of tired minds and legs out there.
Milner, Gini and Firmino look very jaded.

Still in our own hands though. Massive performance needed against West Ham.
No time to be annoyed or angry about today. Just focus on what we can change next weekend.

What can we change next weekend Hansern? We already have the "potentially world class" Origi and "20 goal a season" Firmino in the side.

We can swap you for Arn or Sven. That would improve us greatly.

I really don't understand why you get so angry and frustrated about being wrong about everything. At some fucking point you'd think you'd get used to it.

But no, you whine and moan and get exasperated at everyone else, when the problem seems to be entirely yours.
