Seems like a good enough place for the ratings to go. Draw was fair, and both sides created - and wasted - plenty of chances in what was a frenetic and at times high quality game of football. But we can't afford to drop too many points if we want to make the Top 4.
Mignolet (7) There was lots happening around his box all afternoon, but he coped with most of it well enough.
Clyne (7) Much improved display, and had to be against the speedy and inventive Sane. A great battle.
Matip (7) Another who has been poor in recent weeks, but far more calm and composed here. Usual dreadful headed attempt, but better in the air defensively than he has been lately, and passed well.
Klavan (6) Some wobbly moments and occasionally left for dead by City's lightning pace and movement, but he kept his discipline and worked hard, even if his limitations are obvious to everyone.
Milner (7) In the first half it looked like the quicksilver Sterling was going to deal indelible and lasting damage, but Milner - as ever - refused to yield and simply kept plugging away, doing his best to keep him at bay. Typically nerveless penalty.
Can (8) Our best player, and one of those games which remind you what a player he could be, if he had any consistency. Great passing range, got forward well, wrestled back possession and was the dominant force in midfield.
Wijnaldum (8) Clever movement, incisive passing, strong when he had the ball. This was impressive indeed, and wasn't far behind Can for MOTM plaudits.
Lallana (6) Worked very hard and had a better game than his last couple of mediocre outings. Missed a sitter, which is no real surprise given he hasn't scored in the league since December, but he'll never be a reliable source of goals so it's hard to be too annoyed. Needs to do more with the ball.
Coutinho (5) Only showed any glimpses of quality in the second half, following an opening 45 minutes of desolate, abject football. Don't know what's wrong with him, but isn't justifying his place in the side
Mane (7) Caused Otamendi and co a collective shitfit with his pace, movement and general attacking play. Easily our most dangerous player, even if his own feet were outpaced by his brain on occasion.
Firmino (7) It's hard to rate him sometimes, given we're all long past the point of ever expecting him to actually score goals regularly. Or even irregularly. Or even ever. But he was much, much better than some of his recent displays, won a penalty and also gave Lallana an easy opportunity. Clearly isn't ever going to score enough goals for a team that wants to challenge and win trophies, but played well.
