Porto First Leg Post Match Thoughts

I know it's on the Twitter post earlier in this thread, but what a pic this is

I need spend a week in New York with work in the next 4 weeks, and I specifically told my boss today it couldn’t be the week of the 5th cos I needed to go that match, plus a blag dentist appointment. The only two other options were the week before (my bday) and the week after (Cheltenham races all week)

So I’m going the week before.

Fuck off liverpool. Could have made it worth my while with a nice 0-0 and at least made the match worth me going.

Twats.

You couldn't miss Cheltenham. You made the correct decisions.

Well the correct decision in hindsight would be to go the week of the game. But that’s out the window now so I’ll be spending my birthday with a load of fat cunts who will ditch me at 5pm (US time) and I’ll sit in a bar on my own watching baseball for 5 hours and getting pissed. I’ve done it once before 4 years ago.

The only consolation is that the company pays for it all.

I had to travel for work on me birthday once and had a KitKat for me birthday dinner cos the flight was delayed and by the time I arrived everywhere was shut. I was so annoyed the next day I put through loads of whisky as chips on my expenses. At least you'll be in a better place than Aberdeen!

It’s a very lonely experience, despite how much you rinse them for. Plus I’m on a cost saving project. So yeah. Shit bday. Thanks Liverpool.

I knew we'd twat them. Can't be arsed going the second leg now though. They should just fuck it off. It's not fair on anyone.

Might we worth it to see Solanke, Woodburn and rest of the U21 side make their Champions League debut 🙂

Beast mode.

Mane copying the Firmino karate kick was one of the cutest things I've ever seen
He’s been doing this with most goal celebrations since he’s been here. Copies his mates’ stupid moves with a smile on his face. So cute.
Looks ice cold if he scores himself. I think that tells you his personality.

Everybody was brilliant.

Milner also showed what he adds to the team when he plays like that

Yes... I have been rather surprised that Milner hasn't figured so much this season, he was one of our best players last season and has experience of winning things, that said it is good to see he is still professional enough to not go around sulking at dropping down the pecking order.

But then despite often receiving criticism for his heavy rotation policy Klopp has actually stuck to his philosophical statements, it is a squad game and everyone has had an input.

Ha ha.

We beat a rubbish Porto side, Real apparently in crisis and finished beat the hot favorites to win the whole thing.

A rubbish Porto side?!? Really eh... So rubbish they haven't even lost this season in the league, 17 wins 4 draws 0 defeats and were, the last time I checked, in the last 16 of the Champs...

... there is negative and then there is just simply miserable pish... If you can't spot that that was a good fucking win then go and watch another sport for God's sake.

Or of course, you could fuck off and support Real if you want... and yeah... I reckon we'd give them a smacking too...

  • Liverpool registered the joint-biggest away Champions League knockout win, equalling Bayern Munich's 5-0 win at Sporting Lisbon in February 2009 and Real Madrid's at Schalke in February 2014.
  • This is Porto's heaviest home European defeat and the first time they have conceded more than three goals in a home European match.
  • Liverpool are the first English side to score five goals in an away Champions League knockout match.
