Someone needs to update The Squawk Mentalist thread with their unique take on how Cunt 1 played today with his shit, older clone, Cunt 2

we spent 12 million pounds on them.

One has only played 4 games for us however and is a good footballer no matter how poor he looked today. At the very least could you give him ten games to disqualify himself?

*Not that it matters but he's probably alraedy played more games than Aqua managed.

I think there's some promise there, some of his passing can be very good, maybe his shortcomings won't be so magnified once he plays alongside someone with some actual ability rather than Lucas. It was the same last season with Masher, the onus was on him to do something in an attacking sense and I guess it led to alot of criticism too.

goal.com ratings for lucas ;D

Lucas:Flop of the Match one half of Dumb and Dumber in the middle. Gave more ammunition to critics as he stalled the Liverpool attacks with his aimless sideways passing. Failed to wake up even after he was clattered by Gardner. Taken out of misery when withdrawn for new boy Raul Meireles.

It's going to be a really fucking long year. Wait no, I mean, I'm very excited and there are a lot of good things to be hopeful for, what with a series of astute signings that haven't addressed any of the glaring issues we have.

it was a poor performance from the whole team bar Reina, so i dont know why people are saying Poulsen is shit already. give him a chance

One incident stood out for me. Poulsen was shielding the ball from a Brum player in our box and somehow Lucas contrived to take the ball off Poulsen and gave it to the attacker! *nightmare*

what I find truly terrifying about the crab brothers is the inability to do even the simple bread and better stuff. yesterday I was breathing a sigh of reflief when they completed a pass, ANY PASS.

Was about to right something very similar before I re-read the thread.

Im clinging to the fact that Lucas would conspire to make any midfield partner look utterly utterly shit, regardless of their ability.

Just when we were telling ourselves that he couldnt get any worse, and had lowered our expectations to the level of "oh, he wasn't so bad today, he managed to put his boots on the correct feet, not to cry in public, stand upright for over 50% of the match, and mouth breathe whilst jogging" he suddenly goes that extra step and becomes a total fucking shithouse - actively making himself unavailable by taking positions behind opposition midfielders, delaying-delaying-delaying-delaying the pass, and then..... sliding it straight to the opposition centre back.

Fuck. me.

Poo and Mucas should never start another match this season. If Roy can't see that then he should be off as soon as we get new owners. Cause it's diabolical.

Hopefully, we'll get new owners before january. Sell Lucas, and either Agger or Skrtel.

Get in a talented, mobile defensive midfielder, a commanding centre back that can actually win a header and striker.

If we set up with these two against Manchester United I dread to think what havoc Scholes, Fletcher and Giggs will do. It could get messy.

Yes. Selling Agger would do the trick.

Silly Norwegian lad.

so, KHL...is poosen really that shit or was yesterday just a one off? honest opinion please as until yesterday I had not seen him before.

I said in the middle of last season that I think we need a new CB and much like last season, I no longer care who makes way.

even now (especially now) sami would walk into our back line.

I said the same thing as soon at it was apparent that the gap after Sami was bigger than most would've probably feared at the time baring his age in mind.

I do care however who makes way as I don't think Skrtel's simply good enough to play week in week out for a club of Liverpools stature. To many wrong decisions and stupid errors from his foot and in particularly head in most games. Played a stormer against Arsenal but has then steadily gone from bad to worse.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Konchesky is fit to play come United as I don't want to see Agger at LB either. He should play where he belongs in central alongside Carra. No-more playing our best players out of position and no more juggling around. Lucas and Skrtel and perhaps Maxi and Jova has got to make way.

skrtel is an accident waiting to happen, that not an aggenda to get agger back in the side it's purely an observation.

I've aired my view in several threads already Spidey but to summarise:

No he's not THAT bad.

Maybe he's not going to make it in England but it's still far to early days to tell. I do however feel it's rather obvious that he's not going to improve us one bit playing alongside a Lucas type of player. Actually the opposite as Masher probably made some ammends in terms of sheer workrage even though he often suffered as well playing alongside a midfielder without much creativity nor attacking intent.

We haven't lost so far with Poulsen playing and though I know it's a rather void argument as we just as well could've I still belive we'll see why he's been brought in as soon as we start to field players like Gerrard, Raul and Cole around him. He's a typical DM with a good pass and he can make a good team great but he'll always struggle to improve a weak team.

If that makes any sense.

I know things are looking bleak and yesterday didn't help out one bit but untill next time I'll linger on the fact that we looked FAR better as soon as we made an attacking-minded midfield change yesterday.

Players that struggle to improve weak teams are called 'weak players'.
[/quote]

Hahahahaha!

Can't argue with that.

You could quite easily start a threat called 'Jova and Maxi'.

Poulsen and Lucas are easy targets, because they're fucking shit, but the list of crap players is endless yesterday.

Everyone bar Konch, Meriles and Rerina really.

to be fair to maxi and jove, they were given little support by their fullbacks (not that I think it would have made much difference to be honest).

I hope you're right, Kristian.

It does look though like your solution as to why one Danish player was crap is to make sure the other Danish player is on. 😛

It was well-known that Michael Laudrup had little to no positive effect when playhing for the rather poor Danish Nationalteam at the time because the players around him wasn't up to the standards at Barcelona. He struggled to get his game going at Int. level whilst he was playing like a world beater at Barca. Whereas his little brother Brian took both Denmark and Rangers to a new level as he could make a poor to decent team much better.

The comparison between these players and Poulsen stops there of course but the fact of the matter is that some players are better alongside one type of players whereas other thrive whatever dross beeing placed around them.

Untill proven otherwise I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that he'll at least plays to his own standards when Roy's getting closer to the best XI we've got. If he does he can be an asset. If not then it'll be a long kiss godnight for his Liverpool career.

Even a blind Slovakian rooster would agree that benching Agger ahead of Skrtel is kind of stupid.

Are we learning that CM is a rather important position or something? Is that what we are doing in all these threads?

I had a disturbing thought yesterday along the lines of how much better Lucas was than Poulsen.

Yes. That's the learning.

And also that we are never again going to field two DM without much creativity between them.

We could've hoped we had learned that last year from numerous showings of the highly inept Lucas/Masher partnership but alas we are not learning that fast apparently.
