Oh Bournemouth and Spurs were early season? Damn my memory must be getting really bad because I can't remember a single game after them !
Why are you saying that, as if they wouldn't have come out and tried to kick lumps out of us, had we won 8-0 today, SteveO? You know flippin' that today's result has affected their strategy for Wednesday night not one jot (partially because it's possible that not one single player who started today will start that match). This is the problem - just raises the temperature a little on the Everton game - and there’s zero chance they won’t now think if they get stuck in, they can get a result.
A simple sorry would have been better…the fuck is he on about?
Elliott said: "I mean, the arguments could go on forever, to be honest. I was so close to him and I said to the referee, ‘Do you expect me to jump with my arms by my side? That’s just not a natural way of jumping.’ I was trying my hardest to block the ball and my arm was up there but it was about a metre away from the player shooting.
"But it’s football, it’s a kick in the teeth really. It’s not nice to lose this way and it’s not nice for it to be on you, as I gave away the penalty. So, unfortunately it’s just one of those things. I need to keep my head up and keep pushing on."
Not happy with the selection, the injury to Gomez or the performance. I’m glad we don’t have to juggle additional fixture congestion though won’t apologise about that. There'll be one Irish Aussie cunt happ
Sorry, not a nice thing to say. I drank all Momo's beer in a bar in Alicante watching this - poor excuse but it's all I have.
Slot said he was unsure about it, even if it’s the same leg. He felt something wasn’t right and took the precautionary steps to come off.any update on Gomez?

Gomez started and got injured, Jones was an unused sub, not really sure what you're point is here but it sounds way off.Jones and Gomez are 2 more players that need to be shown the door in the summer. What’s the point in them being here if they cant make themselves available for a game like today.

Slot must take blame for shock upset
Arne Slot has been rightly praised this season but this embarrassing Liverpool defeat at Plymouth was undoubtedly the lowest point of his tenure so far. The inquest is under way, and while some will point to the disappointing performances of seasoned internationals and inexperienced young players, most of the blame must fall on Slot, particularly the Dutchman’s decision to put Darwin Núñez and a half-fit Curtis Jones as the only established names on Liverpool’s bench. Liverpool were rudderless and when Plymouth scored and the game went south for the Reds, Slot had no plan B. Resting players against a side bottom of the Championship before the Merseyside derby on Wednesday is understandable but there is no reason why at least a couple more senior players could not have added to the bench. Slot’s gamble massively backfired and hopes of a quadruple are gone.
I don't get the "make themselves available" bit. Gomez was available and got injured. Explain yourself more clearly, it's not about whether it's rocket science, the wording you used didn't make sense.Point is neither of them can get/stay on the pitch as has been the case for 5 years now, it’s hardly fucking rocket science Mark.
I’m not sure Son is the best example to use. He’s been awful all season and looks genuinely like he’s very much on the decline. Most Spurs fans I know are wanting him out of the side and bemoaning his complete lack of leadership as captain.Son had the least amount of touches against Villa yesterday, sometimes decent players just can't get involved because the set up or players around them just isn't working. It's not always about how much of the ball you have. I agree that Jota was shite yesterday, but so was everyone. Jota was the only player who turned a half chance into a near goal (with his volley near the end).
Yesterday is just a write off, I wouldn't read much into stats, because in the next game while surrounded by a more finetuned set up, many of those same players would perform. It was just an off day.
I'm sure from his point of view he's been through season upon season of the same shite with diminishing returns, so I'm not surprised he's at a low ebb this season. The point still stands really, if you're disjointed (as Spurs are) it can make good players perform badly. No matter how bad Son has performed this season, I bet he'd be performing tonnes better in this Liverpool side.I’m not sure Son is the best example to use. I'm not sure with Son. I get what you're saying and I think it's definitely part of it, but he also looks like his legs have gone to me (or perhaps he's carrying an injury). Similar situation to what we have with Robbo, but Spurs aren't able to rotate him and allow him proper recovery.I'm sure from his point of view he's been through season upon season of the same shite with diminishing returns, so I'm not surprised he's at a low ebb this season. I also wonder whether he just had a special chemistry with Kane which made him look better than he was.
Thanks mateSlot said he was unsure about it, even if it’s the same leg. He felt something wasn’t right and took the precautionary steps to come off.
Plymouth were always likely to play a physical game, and not on the kind of carpet of a pitch we're used to. We didn't seem to have the ball under control all afternoon. That was probably partly due to the pitch, as much as the quality of the players on the field.
Slot didn't want key players getting injured, so he played fringe players.
Those players weren't strong enough for the fight, particularly in midfield once Endo had moved back to defence - we had two inexperienced kids and another player who is out of form because he hasn't been playing (or perhaps the other way around). I'm not ready to write Harvey off yet, but he's struggling at the moment.
I don't actually have a problem with the starting line-up, the issue I have is that the bench didn't have any players that could dig us out if needed. You either start strong, secure the game and rotate, or you start weak but have the cavalry on the bench if needed. That was the mistake Slot made for me. And he made it because he thought the regular first teamers would be better off having a complete rest. I get that.
After everything else he and this squad has given us this season, I can live with that. But I won't be happy if we don't beat Everton on Wednesday.
Agreed. Beat Everton and everyone forgets about the FA Cup. Drop points and it feels like we dropped the FA Cup for nothing.
They don't need encouragement... it's all they have, and they'll be doing it no matter what - Yesterday's result doesn't make Wednesday night any harder.I’d didn’t say it would affect there strategy - I said it would give them encouragement that the strategy could be effective.
