Arsenal about to win 3 games in a row since Big Sam said this 🙄:

[article]Asked if he views the Gunners as a relegation rival, Allardyce said: “If they are in the bottom eight at the moment, yes, absolutely.

“They’ve only won maybe one in the last 10 or so, and it appears their big results have come in the Europa League.[/article]

I love it when stuff like this happens.

Do any of you remember when we played Bolton - I think it was during Rafa's time as manager - and our keeper was (wrongly) penalised for carrying the ball a fraction beyond the box before kicking? It keeps coming back to me because keepers since then have done it way more blatantly and they never, ever, get done for it - practically every match you'll see a keeper do it. It was as if Allardyce 'nudged' the linesman into making that call - it was so weird that this one instance got flagged.

Er, it's hardly a 'cheeky dig' at anyone when he acknowledges that one of his own strikers scores a lot from pens (and what would such a 'cheeky dig,' if it existed, actually seek to achieve? Discouraging strikers from taking pens? Yeah, that's a masterclass in cheeky digs). Really, the projections that people put onto this twit get more forced by the week.

Now 3, i am amazed by these sides who are ripping up WBA

I gave up watching at half time. West Brom were playing more open than a high school slag where as against us the just stayed on the edge of their area.

Load of shite we are recently. We need to change it up again. I'd start taki on Monday

Nah. If you watch closely, the Villa man plants his foot on the ground first.

Pogba then brushes Luiz's calf, then trips himself up. Therefore it's not a penalty. For me, I look for who initiated the contact and how much contact there is.

In this case, it was Pogba, and there wasn't much. The bigger contact came from Pogba himself tripping himself up. I wouldn't have given him a foul outside the box, let alone inside it. It should have gone to review.

I have a different view on why it is not a penalty...

They are both running and leaning into each other. As you pointed out there is the merest of contact, and If it was reviewed on VAR (I did not see the incident, but I persume that it was) and given for that reason Then any, I repeat Any contact whether that be shoulder to shoulder, two hands brushing one another should by that decision be classed as a penalty whether or not it cuased the player to then trip over his own leg...

What next The Keeper comes to claim the ball and jumps into someone and a penalty is award..?

They've taken a few hidings but he took Leeds up after how many managers and they will probably stay up which is an achievement for any promoted team. The media do go overboard but overall he's done a very good job. They obviously need to improve big time defensively.

Seem to remember us shipping 7 against Villa, drawing with WBA and Leeds putting five past them.
Plus they put 3 past us when we had a fit starting back four, they put 5 past Newcastle too...

How did we do againt WBA and Newcastle..?

Every team fucks up

Being top of the table is fucking horrible isnt it.
It is when you have others right behind you and you know one more fuck up and your position is up for grabs. You see had we turned two of those draws into wins, it would give us a buffer plus allow us to lose a game and draw another against the harder opponents. Now we have to do what we did best early last season consistently...win every fucking game .. and treat every draw like a loss, very hard to do now with no defence.

Lets not all sit here all pretty pretending like city/united are not currently real threats to us.

We've been injury ridden all season and based on our current situation, we are just a Fabinho injury away from pretty much being truly fucked for the season - let that sink in.

I do believe we will bring in a CB and do think Thiago (provided he stays fit) will be a game changer but we need to be super on our game to retain the title this season.

I think most of us realized it would be a dog fight and an uphill battle to sustain a title challenge given our injuries. That we are currently doing just that, and won our CL group, feels pretty good.
So, instead of worrying - just enjoy it.

The way I see it we have two games against Man U. Win both, we get a 6 point lead, boom.
