According to my Spurs-connected mate (who called that Joe Cole deal very early), Crouch has been told he can leave as 'Arry looks for funds to freshen things up. He reckons they're prepared to accept 6-7m for him and that Sunderland are in talks with them - with Crouch not too keen. He also says that we checked his availability a week or so ago, with no further talks...as yet. Keane is also likely on his way but Villa are only offering 6m for him.

He reckons Spurs are likely to sign Huntelaar with Dos Santos going the other way, and that Levy has still not given up hope on signing Fabiano for 18m.

I would just love to have Crouchy back. We haven't anyone at the moment to hold the ball up in the opposition penalty area. I don't think he got a fair deal under Rafa.

I know others will disagree.

:🙂

At 6-7m I'd think he'd be an excellent option to have in the squad.

he never got a run of games alongside Torres either.

We already did this a week or so ago.

Would not be a good idea

Ha...

As much as we need a first-rate 2nd striker (imho), I think sorting out LB and DM is a far greater priority.

Crouch Keane and Bellemy, all up for sale and all on the cheap
Crouch - because he simply doesn't score enough
Keane - because he misses 5 of every 6 chances
Bellers - because he's 31 (and a nutter)

I can't see any negatives in bringing back Crouch for 6 million. Can play as a front 2, not great up front on his own but if I had to pick between Crouch or N'Gog it's an easy decision.

Spurs wouldn't have it though, they would want more from a rival chasing the champions league spots.

just to remind you of Crouchy's EPL record (Starts(Subs) Goals+Assists):

2004/5 Southampton 18(9) 12+7
2005/6 Liverpool 27(5) 6+6
2006/7 Liverpool 19(13) 9+8
2007/8 Liverpool 9(12) 5+3
2008/9 Portsmouth 38(0) 11+5
2009/10 Spurs 21(17) 8+6

I make that 188 EPL games (56 as sub) scoring 51 goals and providing 35 assists

None of Insua, Lucas or Masherano have left ... so the one certain opening is Striker.

Simple really. We didn't.

And don't let Ross tell you otherwise.

Definitely for 6million!! If anything he's got better since he left us (more experienced) and is cheaper than when we brought him initially!!

Up on his own or with Fernando would be great and I reckon he'd be happy to be a benchj warmer now he's realised the grass definitely isn't greener since his sulky departure..

Plus his bird's hot..

Pretty good for 6m.

That's the Kanwar argument.

It falls apart quite quickly when you don't tailor the stats to suit and / or see Crouch play a whole season up front.

He's average. Very very average.

Even his biggest fans on here wouldn't like to actually see him play for us unless loads of other players were injured.
He's better then N'gog. He was good alongside Torres and at 6m it would be a shrewd signing.
It wont happen though so i cant really be arsed being pro or anti.
Im just not really against him as a player.

No - unless you are suggesting he never does either in 56 appearances from the bench.

Since he left us he has played in EVERY premiership game for two seasons and the end product? 19 goals and 11 assists

Where is milan baros these days?poor guy, we have been linked wit every striker we got rid of over the past few year.
People wanted owen,bellamy,crouch,cisse,
Apparently we even asked bout heskey.
Milan and moro are only two we not heard of really since they left.
And I think we should just move on,he left the club I dont want him back.
