He's already gone as far as I'm concerned. We need to get a good replacement in and make at least 10m profit on the transaction - to spend on other areas of the team.

If he goes to Spain or even Arsenal, I'll probably forgive him. If he pushes for a move to United though, I will hate him forever.
 
the thing that sets apart top keepers from just 'good' keepers isn't them making saves left right and centre, it's that they are called on to make a save that will in all likelihood earn the team all three points and they make that save.
the concentration needed to make that save after long periods of inactivity must be enormous.

Well I've only ever fell asleep once at Anfield and I was drunk as fuck, wrapped up warm, and we were playing West Ham in the Houllier years.

A goalie really should be able to keep vaguely interested.

I'd like to think there are provisions around this clause that enable us to say no to certain teams. If we have any say, we should point blank refuse to sell him to Utd... do what Ferguson did to us when we tried for Heinze.

I'd like someone like Lloris, however it's uncertain as to whether they'd want to leave clubs with European football to come to us.

I very much doubt Reina or his advisors would have agreed to a clause that precluded our competitors in the EPL. Why bother? Madrid & Barca are sorted, so that would only leave Italy......
 
I think it would've been reasonable to rule out Man Utd at the very least.
