Yeah, he's been good.

We would have beaten the Hammers if it weren't for him, he was excellent that night.

Weird looking bastard.

Terrific little player. Would still improve us on a 2/3 year contract if they'd sell for a reasonable fee.

Yeah, sorry.

It wsa pretty gloomy and overcast at Upton Park after the game so it felt like it was the evening.

It's a bit hard for me to get used to the hours here.

I've gone from bright skies at 9pm to dark skies at 4pm and back again.

I've been used to 12 hours of day and night since birth.

If they go down, I hope we'll be in there like a rat up a drainpipe with an offer for him.

I really hope we don't. He'll be 31 in October and I'm pretty sure the new owners/management really don't want to invest in 30-plus players.

Definitely. He may be old, but he's still got the tenacity we need in the middle.

And he can play a bit too.

Modo has a partial point about FSG not wanting to sign older players, but we will need some experience to go with the younger players coming in, and Heaven knows we need more in the DM department generally.

What about wee Spearo? Not saying that I'm absolutely convinced (yet) but we're slowly getting some competition for those midfield spots.
Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Spearing, Shelvey, Aquilani?, Parker?, Coady?

Take Parker out of the equation and I wouldn't want to rely on that line-up for the steel we'll need in midfield to win titles, talented though those players are overall.

Parker would be a terrific signing, even at 31, and an excellent mentor for the likes of Spearing and Coady. I'd swap him for Lucas in a heartbeat.

he's been good, but has he been that good? is it a case of looking great amongst a large mass of mediocrity at west ham?
