Dirk hasn't scored in the league since November.

Last year, Yossi scored 10 goals in 44 appearances. Dirk scored 7 in 41.

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out to you, but you've claimed (rightly) that Dirk didn't score that many in the league last year, then you claim Benayoun got 10. Fair enough, but 6 of those came in the Fa Cup and Champions League against the worst teams in those respective competitions.

Yossi isn't supposed to be outscoring our #3 striker, or a player who plays almost every game. But selective or not, Kuyt is a very average goalscorer. He's proven that already in England & on the international level. I am not debating if he scores important goals for us btw, because he does and I haven't denied that once. But to be on the pitch so much and contribute less goals in the league last year than Crouch, Yossi & Voronin is rather pathetic ...

His were in important games too which is a massive factor. Yes, he could score more, but then everyone has their faults. He's worth his place.

Hard to define closer, but if we're still in with a shout with 10 games to go, keane will most probably have been a successful buy. But obviously that's just a guess, depends on a few things. I don't think the points behind is as important as sustaining a challenge for longer than we usually do
