I say Dirk will score more than Benayoun.
Dirk hasn't scored in the league since November.
Last year, Yossi scored 10 goals in 44 appearances. Dirk scored 7 in 41.
You really think Dirk can turn it around and get to double figures?
Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out to you, but you've claimed (rightly) that Dirk didn't score that many in the league last year, then you claim Benayoun got 10. Fair enough, but 6 of those came in the Fa Cup and Champions League against the worst teams in those respective competitions.
Level playing field please mate.
Who scored more goal in the premier league? Yossi had 4, Kuyt had 3 ... And let's not forget, Kuyt scored one with his knee (against Newcastle if I'm mistaken) & 2 from the spot ...
Btw, when Gerrard had his monster season during after the Champions League, did you ask people to cross of his TNS goals and goals against shite teams? I mean, I think Yossi has outscored Dirk in int'l play too and in fewer games.
So what, only goals with your feet (and non dead ball ones at that) count?
You're being selective mate, and you know it.
Last season, they both scored a toal of 11 goals. 6 of Benayoun's came against fucking Havant & Waterloovile and Besiktas. Our two easiest games of the year.
This season Kuyt's scored 1, which is more than Benayoun. Hardly worth pointing out, but then if you really want the conversation to be as full of nitpickery(?) as this, then so be it.
Kuyt only scored 10 last season I thought.
Yossi isn't supposed to be outscoring our #3 striker, or a player who plays almost every game. But selective or not, Kuyt is a very average goalscorer. He's proven that already in England & on the international level. I am not debating if he scores important goals for us btw, because he does and I haven't denied that once. But to be on the pitch so much and contribute less goals in the league last year than Crouch, Yossi & Voronin is rather pathetic ...
