For me, my Boston love affair has served me very well, all-in-all... In order of importance:

1. Dublin GAA - Sweet f#$! all since '95.
2. Red Sox - WS Champions 2004, 2007.
3. Bruins - A couple of false dawns, but bugger all really...
4. Patriots - SB Champions 2002, 2003, 2005.
5. Celtics - NBA Champions 2008.

I'm glad that I didn't start part 2 of my life in Buffalo!

Boston red sox have won it twice in recent years

As have the san antonio spurs

After a spell of being terrible the pittsburgh penguins are reigning champions

My favourite of the lot though, the detroit lions are still the detroit lions 🙁

The only US sport I follow is NFL, and I'm keeping my head down on that one after Saint rightly rapped my knuckles a while ago for celebrating a bit too much. ;D

Don't worry jj, if the Lions won it I'd probably explode. That's assuming the universe wasn't destroyed first due to some massive paradox.

Since Ive started following them...

Dallas Cowboys - 3 Superbowl wins
Hampshire CCC - 5 One day final wins
Bath Rugby - 1 European Challenge cup

Much like LFC, in recent years, all these teams have shown an ability to be brilliant and bloody awful on a week to week basis.

Tampa Bay Lightning - a trio of 50 loss seasons in the early 2000s, a Stanley Cup and a couple division titles, back to being awful last two seasons
Minnesota Vikings - just started supporting this past season after going to a game, we know how that season worked out
Winnipeg Blue Bombers - consistently inconsistent, haven't won league title since 1990
Minnesota Twins - perennial contender for the division now, still can't get over the hump in the playoffs

My wife's family have settled in the Washington region, so that's where we moved 13 years ago. We've been really blessed with the Nationals, Redskins, Mystics and Wizards during that time .... or not!

You've got the Capitals!

Great thread idea Whad.

Celtic - Falling apart. Shit players and no money.
Shelbourne - Playing in the 2nd division and completely broke.
Dublin GAA - It's their year! An all too familiar start-of-season declaration. Where have we heard that before?
Leinster - Good going. Reigning Heineken Cup champions and still in it this year.
NY Jets - Good season last year and most seem happy with the off season additions. Good times ahead.

Cowboys - 3 super bowls
Stars - 1 stanley cup
Mavericks - a few playoff appearances and an unlucky loss to the Heat in NBA championship
Rangers - 3 playoff appearances to those miserable yankee bastards.

San Antonio Spurs- A couple of titles, and looking very good at the moment.
Dallas Cowboys- No titles in a while, but looking like we may finally get over the hump.
Texas A&M-Don't ask.

You forgot to mention the Raiders, all their success must have slipped your mind.

Alright bro?

I've told you and everybody else that I will not be putting any more time into the Raiders until Al is gone - There's just no point, because he is absolutely, stone-cold crazy and runs the team accordingly...

I am VERY worried about your lot next season, mate - I actually think that they're a decent shout to go to the Superbowl, with the additions that they've made...

University of Texas - Been pretty good following them over the last few years.

San Antonio Spurs - see Karl hungus

Chennai Super Kings - Just won the IPL

as for NFL - do not have a favorite team. I have a soft spot for the Titans due to Vince Young and the fact that I lived in Nashville for 1.5 years. Currently live an hour and a half away from Pittsburgh. So I may start following the Steelers.

*prepares for barrage of insults*

Yankees - Yay
Lakers - Yay

Only Liverpool has been a massive disappointment.

Oh, it's

Liverpool
Lakers
Yankees.
