Martial have been picked up on BT tv audio saying to Bednarek that there wasnt contact.
Yet, penalty.

Hopefully this makes them complacent
It will of that I am sure, they will forget that in the end the result was achieved by playing against a team with 9 men.

Also I fucking hate these sending off decisions more than anytime before because we played a cunt team who took out our main defender for an entire season, and also almost took out our new signing - and there was no sending off, yet this tackle (which I have not seen) is so bad that the player affected managed to stay on and play and will probably play the next game. Fuck em, - all of them.

You really don't like crying!

I thought his breakdown showed some kind of human side; emotions after a pretty significant achievement.

As the big Lebowski said, grown men cry too. Grown men cry too.

I agree with you, you do have a point about crying in general and being in touch with our emotions.

However, when he went down on his knees and cried after beating us, it was to me a massive overreaction.

That Martial dive is just insane. Dean gives it. Can watch in on slow motion, and see that there isnt any contact and that Martial dives before he is close to the defender and yet still gives the penalty. Awful. Just shocking.

Couldn't really give a fuck about the Utd result beyond how its shot their GD up to level with our own, can we spank Brighton tonight now please to grow the gap once more?

Thanks for the lesson. Nothing against crying (having had to suffer two terrible bereavements recently, which seemed more important than winning or losing a football game, I've been doing a lot of it). Lots against drama queens, though, and the automatic over-indulgence they get these days, and quite a bit against football fans with apparently very little human perspective.

Michael Dean denied Southampton a stonewall penalty last week. Now this... How is this guy still a ref?

I can see giving it in real time but not revoking the penalty and giving a yellow for diving after VAR is shocking. Scarce contact that was initiated by Martial as he fell to the floor. Unreal.

Sorry to hear about your bereavements.

I wasn't attempting to give you some kind of lesson by the way.

I think it's a good time to cut people a bit of slack, we don't know what's been going in yer man's life either, so beyond just winning a game of football, this might have been the straw that broke the camel's back (or something to that effect).

Yeah, true. Giving it in real time sure. But not doing anything to revoke it when its obviously clear and obvious, shocking.

Just another example that VAR isnt the biggest problem, its the people trying to use it.

i was half watching until that point

The length of time this nonsense takes is also a big issue. Instant and wrong is a lot better than wrong and a minute or two pissing around.

Yeah, the fact that VAR slows down the game so badly and gets so many decisions incorrect is just baffling, even more so that using the same , ill-suited technology for the task, the average fan can instantly see how incorrect some of the decisions are. I refuse to believe VAR is a person, or a sighted person atleast. It must be some beta AI bullshit based off @dantes

How many more times does it need to be said?

VAR IS FUCKING USELESS WITH THESE CLOWNS RUNNING IT SO GET FUCKING RID.

losing to palace at home

is that the end for steve bruce?

Wouldn't have thought so,

Battered by Leeds and survived.
Knocked out cup by Brentford and survived.
Struggled at home against 10 men Fulham
Comprehensively beaten at City
Beaten by Leicester
Knocked out other cup by Arsenal
Beaten by SHeffield Utd
Beaten again by Arsenal in the league.
Beaten by Villa
Beaten again by Leeds

Point is you couldv'e sacked him even before the battering at Leeds and even with the string of results/performances that follow he's still not
being rumoured as losing his job.

Ashley doesn't give 2 fucks about the club so it looks like the fans gonna do his job for him.

5 minutes that review took, including referee doing onfield look. I don't understand how the wrong outcome is still reached. Official should receive a temporary demotion for that.

Also speaks to the larger problem of attackers being permitted to leave a limb out unnaturally to initiate contact. He literally threw his right leg out to the side and left it extended in an unnatural position in hope of contacting the defender.

Wouldn't surprise me if sooner or later all 20 clubs (except maybe Utd) follow down the same path with every single referee.

Obviously Wolves and Nuno a few weeks ago spoke out about a referee which he got charged for (think it was Mason as well) and in general poor/shocking referee decisions are all that gets talked about after games.

It’s not going to be long before someone sues VAR lines for pretending it’s scientifically accurate and load of BS it actually is, it’s just pure trolling geared up for it.

Anybody else think that the citeh winger (Sterling, I think) was offside in the buildup to that inevitable early goal..? It won't matter, but I was surprised that they didn't look at it. Actually, no... No I wasn't.
