Origi - cracking goals that made big differences

He was a kid with potential then. And that potential was exciting. Downing probably did had a decent run at some stage but he was never an exciting player for us.

Origi came onto the scene at the same time as Rashford. And there was some debate on here who was the better player. Origi's done more than Rashford has so far.

I wouldn't want to rely on Origi for a whole season too but for a month or so, he's perfectly good for that.
If you are needing to reky on origi for a month then we are in deep shit. He was rated highly when we bought him, we loaned him out/back to a French club and was voted worst player in the league. Would agree that he had potential but have never seen this "exciting player". He has popped up with a few Important goals but is nowhere near even making our 2nd squad thesedays. He deserves his plaudits but is seriously not good enough for us. Wish him well where ever he goes though, comes across as a likeable lad

for me it’s about the poignancy of coming on in some of the games and scoring the clincher ..
Agree with this but he's just not that good a footballer. I think somewhere in there there is a footballer but maybe he needs a change for That to show but it's definitely not going to happen here

That kid has it all, you have to wonder why we want to let a striker of his ability go when that is ourr 4th choice. 4th fucking choice and he has it all. We are mental.

don’t think anyone is saying he’s the greatest footballer we ever had or anything like that or that it’s not time, for his own sake, he went to pastures new ,to get game time … he has been significant and a legend for what he helped us achieve…
see the thread title …I love the guy he’s a legend for those amazing moments !

I like Origi and all, but he's not even in our top four forwards at the minute, let alone comparable to Suarez. He's grand as a squad player, scored some memorable goals, but he's never really kicked on to be a great player and never will.

Maybe we can use that clause we have on Rhian Brewster and he can sit on the bench instead of Lord Divock.

He has moments of looking unplayable, whilst scoring some remarkable high pressure goals. This is why good teams will always be in for him.

I’d actually enjoy watching him in the CL for Milan

I have no problem with him leaving. I'm just a bit pissed off that he's leaving for free. I mean we could have made at least £30 mill if we sold him after the CL win.
I don't think he did much to affect our league win the year after.

See the term legend gets banded about way to easily. Gerrard, Dalglish, Souness, salah, Barnes ect.. Theses are Liverpool legends. He's scored important goals but seriously legendary status is a bit much. Suarez is one of the most gifted players who has played for us in my lifetime but he'll never be a Liverpool legend

there’s plenty of room around for statues 😀
I don’t get too hung up about it really …the more legends at LFC the better !

It seems now he is indeed set for the San Siro, and the club who are hoping to be champions of Italy this year, with Tancredi Palmeri reporting on an agreement finally being reached.
The striker is in line for a three-year deal at €3.5m a year – about £60k a week – and he’ll be challenging the likes of Olivier Giroud, Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a role in the front line.
Origi’s Anfield career might be coming to a close without him featuring too much, but he’ll always have a place in folklore for his exploits against the likes of Everton, Barcelona and the Champions League final against Tottenham.

I can't say I'll miss him because I continually forget he exists due the fact he plays so little for us but he'll definitely go down as a legend, cult hero and the rest of it.

Fab. I'll never get tired of watching that goal.

Is it just me or was there a split second of silence right after the goal went in and before the crowd erupted, as if they couldn't quite believe what they'd just seen? 😀
