What we need is another striker.
With Gerrard, Meireles, Poulsen and Cole we've got enough options.

I was hoping we would no longer see 2 holding midfielders at home again under Roy.
Meireles behind Gerrard and 2 strikers please!

Id be happy with £5M for the brazilian passenger.

not my words of course................................

You know what? Maybe lucas would score some fucking goals if his fucking teammates spotted his runs better. If there was a stat for most unrewarded attacking runs, Lucas would be number 1 by a large fucking margin.

His passing was fine yesterday. If you rewatch the game then you will see that a lot of his misplaced passes for forward passes that didn't reach their target because the movement off the ball is so dire and his teammates weren't finding space well enough.

He had a very good pass yesterday that completely cut through wba's midfield and found gerrard with yards of space and kuyt and torres in front of him. He promptly proceeded to pass it right to a wba player which he basically did for 50-60 % of his passes in the final third. Gerrard was not very good yesterday. Yes he had the one pass to torres but that is really the only real contribution to the game he made apart from his work at defending set pieces.

The only time lucas has had an attacking run rewarded was when he got behind the benfica defense but any player in the world would have made that pass.

Another time lucas got the ball and played 2 1-2s and was right outside the box and gerrard passed it behind him and the move broke down right as he was prepared to take the ball into the box. It was a nice piece of play.

Lucas had a fine game yesterday. The team selection though really lacked a cutting edge on the flanks. There is no reason for maxi to be on the bench. His a much better player than kuyt or jova and he adds a lot of movement and incisive passing to our attack.

I somewhat agree with this part (he's right about the situations he described yesterday). Lucas was ok yesterday by his own usual 'passenger' standards.

So the passes were good, but it's the other players at fault for not being where he passed the ball.

Don't know why I didn't realise.

You couldn't make it up. I'm actually a great lover, it's the women's fault for not being where I put my penis.

I told you, it's zonal passing. He's well ahead of the rest of them, he keeps finding the right zones but the rest of the team are into this backward man to man passing game.

I'm going to use this. Haha.

He can form a great midfield partnership alongside salif diao .Ex-pool players at stoke city prove doubters wrong. 😱

The day that cunt leaves Liverpool, I'm throwing a fucking street party
[/quote]

Dude, I'll go 50/50 with you.

I know a lot of posters want him out the club at any price, putting that aside, what price tag would you expect to recieve for Lucas, and think reasonable?

£6.5million for me.

The fact we got ANY fee at all for Djimi Traore makes me live in hope that some mug will cough up £6m plus for Lucas.

What? Lucas?

bren's street part aside, when lucas leaves it will be without fanfare, more a simple shrug of the shoulders and a 'meh'

Have we lost money on every sale this window (bar the pitiful profit from Mascherano of course) ?

Cavalieri bought 3 million, sold 2 odd.
Riera bought 9 million, sold 4.2 million (lovely business that)
Benayoun bought 6 was it?, sold for about 5.

Have I forgotten any?

Why would anyone expect to make a profit on Casper? He's 30, and not very good

Same for the rest.

And give a shit about 'making a profit' anyway. That's not how we do things.

I know, I've often used the Ajax comprision myself whenever someone points out ow Rafa managed to 'minimise his losses'.

My point was to illustrate that to expect to move Lucas on for anything other than a masssive loss is unrealistic considering we've lost money on better players.

Apparently 'Lucas was class' yesterday.

It actually seems about 50% of that site think Lucas isn't good enough & 50% think he's great & misused or any number mad theories. My re-opening the debate & pushing a bit seems to have brought a fair few out of the woodwork.

I'm not sure, but they know I'm a mod/owner on here so I suppose that may have something tondo with it.

I thought calling the Lucas supporters mental would have done it but it seems not.

He was fucking woeful yesterday.

a sure way of getting banned on RAWK is starting loads of threads without looking if a similar thread exists, the other is qouting a long post and replying with a single line, i.e. 'spot on', they HATE that.

lucas really doesn't do much of anything, he doesn't shield the defense competently and doesn't support the attack, it's like he is confused as to what his role is in the team.
