Gerrard! Or is that cheating

It probably is, but I like it. A vintage Gerrard would be a beautiful thing in this current team.

I'm torn. The head says getting someone like Hansen or Souey in would be brilliant in terms of making us more solid but the heart wonders how many hundreds of goals we'd score with someone like Daglish or Barnes in their prime.

I think what bothers me most about this team at the moment is that they still need to be motivated in some games it would seem. Perhaps one of our more elder statesmen could advise on who would be the best candidate for instilling a winners / take no prisoners style attitude.

...And that's all from Uncle Mack's Daydream Club for this week. Next on the Home Service, a talk by Professor Jacob Haffnutt on Alchemy.

I'd be all for Souness but then we'd have to drop Stevie, so I'd love to see Big Sami back, in the run-in we would score 40 & concede 4, that'd do.

Not cheating - I even suggested that in my first post. My choice would be Souness or a younger Stevie. I do follow the Dalglish or Barnes reasoning and am tempted that way too. And while Hyypia/Hansen are also good shouts I feel that the defence has had so much disruption due to injuries that its a little unfair to be too critical. We already looked better at Johnson and Agger's second game back. So I'd go for Souness to solidify the midfield and get the defence better-organized all in one.

Hypia for me.

Hansen& Souness are other obvious choices.

Ray Clemence would be high up my list as well.

I always had a thing for Beardsley, him or Barnes in place of Coutinho at the moment would be nice.

Any of Hamann/Mascherano/Hyypia/Alonso would probably do wonders for us, or a young Pepe Reina.

Too many to choose one.

Steve Nicol, because
1) He was my first real hero
2) We would have cover for EVERY position in the starting 11 in case of injuries
