Looks like he’s getting a new contract.

Surely we are happy about this as the following stat highlights

Trophies won the last 4 years

City 8
Arsenal 4

No. Ive said it before, but i want utd to sack managers at least every other season, if not more regularly. I will take the risk they stumble across a half decent manager versus the delight at them being a manager merry go round laughing stock.

And Ole was a cunt hair away from winning the Europa cup

So? It’s the losers cup they almost won for being shite in the big one.
Let them slowly die under him.
Almost 10 years since a league title, 13 since a CL.
Five years since any trophy.

Because it drops trophies from teams to spell out his narrative. He’s completely ignoring they’ve outperformed us this season and still had a chance of the title a few months ago and could’ve won a European trophy.

He's not a disaster, but he's also not the guy to get them back winning the top prizes. Big occasions freeze him like a rabbit in the headlights, and they outperformed us for the sole and simple reason that we were grotesquely hamstrung by an injury avalanche, one which has got even our opponents and pundits who normally have little time for us praising our getting third place. Under Solskjaer they'll continue to be dangerous but will never be our most dangerous opponents.

United fans are aghast at us finishing 3rd with only 5 points behind them with 5th and 7th choice defenders. They know they're pretenders, levels below Klopp's team. You have to ask yourself if City were playing with 5th and 7th choice defenders, where would they finish?
 
They have a shit, unbalanced squad. He's not the one to return them to true glory but he's done an alright job with what he's got. They are slowly inching forward in a way most did not expect when he was appointed or probably for a good year or more after.

Pffft, we were top at Xmas. Utd were never in with a chance of winning the league this year.
They couldn’t win a second rate trophy against the 7th best team in Spain.

We won fuck all. Lucked our way to third. They finished 2nd and got to a European final.

They were a keeper save away from winning something. We had nothing to win come the Madrid fiasco.
 
I think many here forgot they had entered into the Europa League because they finished 3rd in their CL group.
That, after leading the group going into the 5th round of ties. For them it is the loser's cup, and they didn't even win it.

We performed infinitely better than them in Europe by not being in the Europa Cup to start with. The fact they didn’t win it is hilarious. They should have walked it.
 
I agree with the assessment that Utd were never contenders this season. They finished 2nd in a year our squad imploded, Chelsea and Spurs sacked their managers half way through the year.

Simply put I think they will probably be much the same next season but the level of the opposition, certainly from us and Chelsea will go up several notches.

Solksjaer is probably getting sacked next summer

They’ll do well to finish 5th next year.
 
I think they will get top 4 but maybe not higher than 4th. Their wage and transfer budget gives them a large margin for error over the likes of us Spurs and Leicester. They would need a spectacular fuck up to finish 5th. I think Solskjaer is a distinctly average manager but he's not a total liability.

If he doesn't win the league or CL last year he's gone. It will be his 3rd full season, you don't get a 4th without winning something significant.

Football is about winning trophies. We had nothing to play for after real put us out in an absolute feeble 2 legs. We didn’t perform in Europe. Again, we could or should’ve walked it. But we didn’t.

They were close to winning a trophy. And that’s what the sport is about.

No it’s not. We qualified for it by the rules of the competition. As did they.

Ultimately, they scored more points, had a final, knocked us out of the fa cup and got further in the league cup.
