Lucas has played some 85 games for us. Someone pulled me up in the match thread when I said I think it's the best pass he's ever played for us by remarking that there'd been one other like it. It's really not much to shout about, is it?

That was me, I hardly "pulled you up" on it. I think we agree that Lucas should do that every other game, not just a handful of times in his career.

Some decent passing in the first half (especially the first goal) mixed with plenty of hoofing later on.

We struggled with Blackburn's percentage play throughout with both Carra and Pepe doing some desparate defending but then who doesn't struggle with it? Also, they had had 4 wins in their last 6; so they were'nt short on confidence.

Highlights were Mascherano being busy and urging us on and the sheer presence of Torres who really is the difference - another winning goal; Stevie G making a cooly taken goal from a miscontrol and Pepe pulling out a great stop after an uncharacterisically nervy display.

We're muddling through, one of these weeks we are actually going to play well - aren't we?
