8 million Dossena cost.. im pretty sure we could have signed a relatively decent winger for that amount.

None of those will cost less than 8m now. Ron & Arsh were nearer to 15m when they joined MU & Ars respectively I think.

The bottom line is that in the six years that Rafa has been here, he hasn't managed to sign one top wide player. Maybe he's missed out on a couple top targets, maybe he hasn't always had the money he's wanted or needed, but either way, that's a pretty terrible record.

Which, providing we don't make lots of shit signings instead, is within Liverpool's budget.

Not many of Rafa's signings were above 10m. When they are bad, he ships them out pronto. Apart from Keane & Babel above 10m, the others are doing quite nicely. The point I am making is we are skint and we cannot afford to sign wingers that we all like to see here for 25 to 30 m.

Yossi was a good buy for less than 8m. Kuyt too.

We're not talking about 25-30M though.

He's had the funds to spend. He just has never prioritised the wide positions, choosing instead to play fullbacks or strikers there.

The rest of the teams in the league seem to get by not spending 30 million on wingers.

Also this latest excuse doesn't account for the fact that the apparently offensive full backs were shit.
No financial situation, no matter how bad, FORCES a manager to spend 8 million on a shit full back.
